2025/26 Tim Iroegbunam

It just doesn't make a huge amount of sense to me right now.

Maybe in the summer, if we were bringing in someone else, but even then you've got to think that this could well be Gana's last season and Alcaraz's contract would make you think that he could be off as well, so selling Iroegbunam feels like a stretch even for the summer

It’s modern football and everyone has their price but surely his is a bit more than “a deal worth up to £15m.”
25m for a young English player, playing regularly in the PL as a minimum. Buy back at 30m and 15-20pc sell on would be the bottom line with 18 months left on contract.
If you want to play with the big boys, you need to act like the big boys

He's a promising player who has had as many outstanding games as he's had absolutely terrible ones. I'd like us to keep him, but if we are looking to quickly raise funds to bring in a quality striker and right back before the end of the window, then he's expendable. Stick in a high sell-on clause just in case he turns into a superstar in the next years. The Everton playbook would be to sell him under the guise of we need the money to bring in new players, only to go with what we've got and see that money disappear. Hopefully this isn't the case under the new ownership though. Doubt he'll be leaving anyway, just made up Twitter BS.

And miss out on pointless aggro and only half agreeing?

Mate this is Grand Old Team, we're just having a Grand Old Fume

Selling him, regardless of what I think about him, would be a shocking and pointless move though.
And i hope you enjoy your Grand Old Fume, it keeps things ticking.
But to class him in terms of England standard, stretching a bit far there..

At the moment he’s ahead of Rohl for me, not by a lot but just. I do imagine if Rohl had played the same level of games as Tim, I’d possibly reverse my view.

Having thought about it, we are spending 20m on Rohl, I’d expect Tim if sold to be above 20m.
