Well that a real tough one but I will have a try and give you an answer, Bare with me though it will be a long answer

WE SOLD ROONEY FOR 28M

That money was well spent by the time we brought Howard etc in.

Rooney went in in 2004, half the money went to the bank and the rest of the money went on shite like Beattie, Simon Davies and Kroldrup.

Howard et al were bought in 2006, long after that money had been used up by crap buys that saw us make losses on practically all of them.

Gosh I hope not. I hope his head is screwed on better than Drenthe and the pudgy one VDM. Drenthe oozed with talent but to immature to handle the big time. VDM like his tonic and go a little rowdy after hours which Moyes didn't care for notwithsatanding talking out of turn to the Gaffer. His butt got sore from the splinters after that.

I was so excited with VDM and Drenthe...this is another one mate.....only heard he was a bit of a waster a few months ago -- I wanted him ever since he came through at Boro....not now.

Would love to have Landon back. He's proved not once but twice that he can cut it with us and will offer us genuine quality down the right - unfortunately, I don't rate Coleman one bit because he's been found out by the defenders after a decent first season for us.

If we get Dempsey AND Donovan who are we going to sit out? Providing both Gibson and Fellaini stay fit we would have to bench Osman and Naismith to accommodate which will surely be the end of Junior or Barkley playing first team this season.

Dempsey is a class player but blowing our whole budget (still unknown) might be a risk too far.

Would honestly love to see Landon back so we can see this:

----------------Howard-------------
Hibbert----Heitinga----Distin----Baines
-----------Gibson----Fellaini---------
Donovan----------------------Pienaar
-----------Naismith/Osman-----------
----------------Jelavic--------------

Wayne Rooney £27,000,000
Thomas Gravesen £2,450,000
Tomasz Radzinski £1,750,000

Simon Davies £3,500,000
James Beattie £6,000,000

TOTALLY

I agree that developing youth should be our main strategy for the club but in this thread you've been putting words, unfairly, in TX_Bill's mouth, quoting total b*****'s like ....

(with reference to Donovan + Dempsey)

That is just total s**t. lol

Loads of people from all over the place were excited at the prospect of Donovan signing. Check out the Donovan thread.

I can't believe you had the nerve to say that to him as if it was a fact. You're deluded at best.

The points TX_Bill made were good points but you kept on trying to twist what he was saying to make it suit yourself.

I agree with your points in general but you're one of those people that starts lying and twisting other people's words when they bring up valid points against you.

Must have misread what he was writing then ?! No idea to be honest.....it like 12 hours ago in a 12 page thread.....

What I am saying is FINE people are excited about a Donovan or Dempsey signing....

IS THAT THE ONLY CHOICE ??

NO !

There are many other options out there.....just like in the spanish papers when Marca run a poll of fans who they want...player X or Y or Z

If there was only 1 option they would usually all say yes.

Do you want a new player = YES.

Do you want Donovan = YES

Not Do you want DONOVAN OR Emile Heskey / Michael Owen / Messi etc etc.

I think you can make an argument dependent on fees and wages so Landon may well be (as many who know say) a possibility even with that business idea in mind as he contract ticks down and the fact hes moving from the states but for me Dempsey (who moyes rates highly I believe ) is not going to be cheap Nd I'm not sure his fee or wages would be within our scope especially given the kind of money other interested clubs might be prepared to offer.

Despite my talk of business plans like anyone I'd be excited at their arrival but I wonder how likely it'd be at all
