2025/26 Thierno Barry

I was stood next to the group of black fans that were attacked. I was told that they were family/friends of our players before KO.... they looked like 2 or three different family groups, but they may have all been together. I didn't see any of them celebrate the goals (but there were a couple behind too, so I could've missed it), but one of them made the stupid decision to film the ground as Arsenal celebrated the goal, and everyone around reacted. The 3 next to me (looked like a man and wife with teenage son) looked pretty scared tbh.... amd there were a few racist shouts too. I managed to calm the loons trying to get to them in our row, but it was coming from all around by then.... and the black lads further along were having to defend themselves from behind and in front.... so it quickly began to escalate a bit. Stewards and police started to intervene and it got dragged further along the row. The few remaining near me waited for it to calm down before leaving. Not very pleasant tbh. I'm assuming that they may have been his family/friends.... seemed to be a mixture of accents.

I've no idea if any were Arsenal fans Tbh, but I can't say anything really, I've sat with home fans all over the place and mostly got away with it. Wasn't pleasant seeing the rascist stuff and the family group looking terrified though.
Just saw the video.
Really bad.
Unfortunately (like all clubs) we do have some racist, violent scumbags.
Whoever attacked those people should be banned imo.

Obviously it's possible to get tickets to sit with other fans.

Most people here have probably sat with other fans.

Most people here have probably driven over the speed limit.

There are regulations around both and if you get caught there are consequences.

If I jumped and cheered and was winding up other fans, I would expect some verbal abuse and the stewards to escort me out for everyone's safety.

The fact is, a professional player has endangered fan safety by giving his tickets to people who have misbehaved. He makes a fortune from the game and should know better. To then highlight this on social media just shows how ignorant, entitled and stupid he is.

We have fans in this thread who are saying that they don't believe the reports of what Barrys friends were doing but do believe that our fans were racist to them and attacked them for no reason..

Genuine scumbags.
There's a first hand account of the second portion of that from an experienced poster on here, no one is blindly believing anything, but crack on!

Wow. Obviously extremely disappointing to hear, but thank you for posting. Situation seemed too mad to me to realistically be what some of our fans playing defence were suggesting, that these people were essentially openly antagonising our fans and loudly celebrating Arsenal goals, waving our fans out of the stadium, etc.

The uncomfortable truth is that it was always far more likely to be down to a couple of absolute scumbags probably off their faces on coke, lashing out and racially abusing people. So depressing, such a terrible look for the club.

Conversation to be had about the presence of these people in our club! There really is, people don't want to go there and I understand why but there really should be no room for these type of people anywhere near Everton.

Goes to show also that we should wait for detailed information before passing judgement on these things. In the context of the post above, there is some pretty shameful stuff on here since last night, written by people who were angry and obviously misled by false information coming from one random bloke on twitter.

What a mess.

Comments like this is what I meant by scumbags.

Waiting for detailed information? So you've taken the word of one person over hundreds?

Some of you can't wait to try and sh*t on our own fanbase. Lizards.

Hundreds? People crashing out over this are going off of 1 tweet by a genuine rando.

I'm choosing to believe a much more detailed account by a long time poster and that makes me a scumbag lizard. Alright mate.

That's fair , sorry for overreacting I do see those types of soccer fans at the bars here occasionally, where they think MLS teams would be able to compete in the EPL type delusion
It's just the fact that it's a completely different thing over here when it comes to fan mixing is all.

Too soon!

And I'm choosing to believe the words of lads I've known and been travelling to games with for over 30 years.
