The stench of mediocrity.

When we were poor we knew our place and made the best of things. Expectations were not as high.

Enter Moshiri and his millions and throw a load of money at the problem and hey presto...

Err...

We are 15th and being laughed at. Nice one Everton.

The amount of people happy simply because we "had a go" yesterday is mental.

City didnt get out of second gear and still put 3 past us. Had a midfielder at centre back who didnt look troubled all game.

Norwich put three past them the other week, but we had a go so it's fine.

Going to struggle massively this year. Squeaky bum time and we are still in September.

Some of our fans deserve everything they get - I saw someone yesterday say they were upbeat with the result as atleast we scored!

Literally a RS title win and Everton relegation would be right up their street.

Think the Burnley game is absolutely must not lose now. If we lose the calls for his head will be deafening and after 5 losses in 6 he couldn’t argue. If we win though then we can carry on with the season. It’s stupid that it can come down to one game like this but Silva has made a rod for his own back here not by the performance yesterday but by the complete non performances at Villa Bournemouth and Sheffield United and the continued selection of Schneiderlin Siggurdson and Calvert Lewin.

The stench of mediocrity acceptance is in full bloom after yesterdays game. Some examples:

'We didn't do too bad as we only got beat 3 - 1 at home when we expected to be beaten by about 5 or 6 or worse'

'We are going in the right direction and need to be patient'

'There are lots of positives to take out of the game'

There are zero positives for me. We played a bit better than in previous games and were still beaten 3 - 1 at home in a game where we had enough chances to have got something out of the game and should have done but we failed to come back from behind as we always do. We have lost 4 out of the first 7 games and are now sitting 1 point above the relegation zone with a minus 6 goal difference.

And mind bogglingly, some people are content and think we are heading in the right direction.

Mediocrity r us.

@Adam-GOTTV
You know I’ve become a fan of your videos. But your purring of the quality of the players at City yesterday was so small time mate.

We have a mentality that has run through generations of evertonians to be in awe of the teams that come to goodison instead of trying to make it a bear pit. I remember in the 90s when UTD used to turn up after winning trophy after trophy and swatting teams out their way and the fear was on the players faces.

We are like a puppy now.

Just to add - there is nothing wrong with being respectful to the opposition, do you think any teams come to goodison anymore fearing us? I fear a loss more than I ever had in recent years every single time this shower of cowards turn out for us, not a single leader amongst us.

Almost always scoring that just sums up Everton for me, how many just needs the right touch goals have we missed over the years.

How hard is it to buy a center forward over nearly half a decade.

Relegate a side, and then drag another side right down the table after an impressive start.Silva has done good stuff in Portugal and Greece. But his track record in english football, did not warrant being given the Everton job.

You can thank Moshiri for his 'flavour of the month' recruitment strategy. Add in a dash of knee jerk panic in the case of big Sam.

We had one. He saw through the the facade. Or at least his agent did, but that’s another story.

The official twitter account just sums up the low standard the club sets for itself. Twice now, against Bournemouth and now City, after two defeats they've came out praising Calvert Lewin for grabbing a consolation like it's some sort of positive " well done Dom for not being diabolical for a change and actually converting one of your many chances this week"

Even the one we did manage to buy fluffed our best chance of a trophy since 95. Missed pen and several missed one on ones from a player who barely missed in the league. Everton that.

The apathy around everton fans these days.

If we got relegated I would expect dozens of posters on this forum state stuff like `well we should be proud we were in the top league for so long - it had to happen sometime' `time to be humble' `the reds spent plenty of time in DIV 2' etc etc ohhh and Ps. Give Brands and Silva to put it right because w play slightly better football than allardyce or Pulis.
