Next time he will be kicked off it mate speeding like that .... he was going that fast I had no chance than hurl verbal abuse at him & tell him to use the cycle path ....
Assuming you're not on a delirious rant, I strongly suspect most cyclists would gladly use the cycle path if it was safe to do so. Alas, many cycle paths are in terrible condition and strewn with debris, or alternatively blocked by parked cars and shared with pedestrians. As an example, in Lourdes, there is a "chemin vert" bike path from the town all the way to the mountains. It's completely separate from the road and in great condition. As a result, I don't think any cyclists use the road running adjacent to it.

I'm hoping to ride up Mount Blue Sky tomorrow and to get to the foot of it will go through the Boulder Canyon. It's supposedly not all that nice to ride as it's narrow and American cars are huge. If you gave me a bike lane I'd be in it in a shot. Trust me. I don't enjoy being abused and threatened by motorists in their metal boxes, so give me a viable alternative and I'll take it in a shot.

I remember people during the election campaign telling me: "You're wrong Dave. There'll be no return to austerity. Starmer is different - he's just saying stuff to get into office. There'll be a break with austerity" when I posted stuff like this:

It's about policy mate not colours on rosettes.

Starmer and co. represent a continuation of Tory policy on privatisation and austerity.

Let's have it right here: some people are just after the big moment when the official Blue Tories are annihilated. That's it. Great. Then their policies continue.

What we need is an end to austerity and massive investment in infrastructure and a huge increase in spending on our local authorities to get on top of the social welfare crisis.

What Starmer is offering is a guaranteed, baked-in continuation of austerity...

Absolutely copper fastened on that is.

...and now here we are - not even out of August - and the austerity announcement is getting officially made this week.

It's your vote, your choice. Do as you please.

I recognise the country has two broken legs, it is silly of me to expect anyone to be able to have the country kicking the can-can overnight.

I'm satisfied if labour get in to halt the descent, and then be honest about how far the descent has seen us all fall. We need to know how far in the ship* we are to then know how much work it'll take to get us out there of.
Just leave this here.

The plagiarist has sent out her sister to do her dirty work for her.

The utter chutzpah of these people defending austerity when they were elected to make things better.

Maybe in my backyard?

I bet you played Sim City in cheat mode Dave.

Cyclists speed? Have you ever tried going at 30mph on a bicycle Joe? Your talents may be hidden under a bushel, but I would go as far as to say you'd need a few Dysons strapped to your back on full "blow" mode to get even close.
Was gonna say this …. Possibly down a very steep hill on a clear stretch of road with an even surface (no pot holes) … but not sustainable at all for a long period

Indeed. I could go down an empty Alpine descent and struggle to get up to 75kmh. To think of doing so on a shitty British road with pensioners crossing at random points doesn't seem likely.
