A widower whose wife died after being hit by a cyclist says he has "won the battle", after the government introduced a new cycling offence law.
Diana Walker, 76, was on her way home from a shop in 2016 when she was knocked down by a cyclist in Pewsey, Wiltshire.
Her husband Peter has spent the last seven years campaigning for cyclists who cause deaths or injuries to face specific charges.
He said he "feels relieved" after the government decided to make death by dangerous cycling a serious offence.

How many more accidents they cause on the road - no something needs to be done - no court case - the cyclist should have insurance & get banned from cycling - end of .... you can not have one rule for a motorist & another for another road user - those new bikes go over 30 miles per hour - down hill 50 miles per hour - as a motorist we get done - they don't .... sorry over 18-year-old & you pay insurance & road tax & are liable to the highway code, & pass a proper road test - pedal power nowadays is just as dangerous ....

The friends I have in Wales driving at 20 miles per hour are fed up with cyclist over taking them

Interesting points. As an aside it does seem to be a lot of Trotskyists who go down that path. I'm not sure why that is. Poor old Trotsky would be turning in his grave.

Jones is certainly on a different path, and you are right was never any kind of Marxist. He was always a left reformist type.

Where they both have similarities though is they are weak and dishonest. Jones tried to undermine Corbyn for Lisa Nandy, and disavowed him because he wasn't patriotic enough in 2016. Jones is also very slippery on Palestine and Israel and has thrown people under that bus.

Even when he realized he was wrong in 2016, he still kept giving ground. That's his instinct, and as you see from Mason the more ground you give, the more they take.

Well, certain Troskyists have. The lack of traction in the LP they've had can eventually lead to cynicism and defeatism. Hatton being an exemplar. Maybe that's why the SWP have lasted so long; they dont believe in entryism into the LP and have remained relevant through organisations they set up like the anti-nazi league, rock against racism and latterly the stop the war and stand up to racism movement.

Mason and Jones are chalk and cheese. The latter isn't mired in the factionalism that corrupted Mason eventually into a sectarian, war mongering class traitor. Jones' politics has been very much issue based and he seeks broad coalitions. The fact he ditched the LP this year after 25 years tells you all you need to know about Starmer's factional-ridden sinister gang.
