The Inevitable Return Of Wayne Rooney

so why did he want 250k a week just a few seasons ago.
rooney here at 30 while he is still good enough to be playing for the big teams are you serious.

when ronaldo is 30 he will be earning 500+k a week (on a lower tax rate) and you think rooney will come back here.
anelka earns 8m+ a year and he is 33.
quite obviously he will go where the big money is

If he wanted the big money he could go to Russia, or City, or Real Madrid. He's getting 250k which is the norm for players of his ability. He actually wanted to leave remember ?

As Goat says he would have gotten a higher wage going up north.

That's exactly what he is going to do, according to ITKs and family members.

Nobody, not even himself can know that. Sounds like big talk that in reality will never happen.
Bet he said he'd never leave Everton in the first place, I know he was young then but footy players (especially this one) are generally thick as f-uck, he & his 'family members' will have 'forgotten' all about it come 2015.

You don't "forget" to be a fan though, really. And he won't have forgotten what's gone before, which he wants to make amends for.

Has anyone ever thought about United here??, how many world class performers have United let just run down there contracts and walk for nothing?? I mean I know it's down to the player himself but that is just not how United operate, knowing full well our financial problems I find it hard to believe that Wayne will come back here whilst he's still got plenty to offer, anyone who thinks he'd take that much of a pay cut just to come back are kidding themselves, if he was that way inclined he'd never have left in the first place. I've got no hatred for Wayne at all and love him as a player, I'd take him back tomorrow but the only way he's coming back is when he's finished 30+ and unwanted by champions league clubs willing to pay him wedge, just like the way Louis Saha came here from United

Fergie only gives one year contracts to players over 30, i see that continuing even if he does leave, it has become a club policy.

Rich people wake up all the time and realise they want something different from life. Look at Bill Gates, he's a billionaire but now all he really cares about is his charitable foundation and encouraging other mega rich people to give the majority of their wealth to the less fortunate.

I don't think it's unrealistic at all to think that Rooney would be satisfied with his £100m+ earnings between 2010 and 2015 and decide that he wants to come home.

Why not? Every other player in the universe does.
Come 30 He'll be in another country, soaking up the sun & the extra millions.
You get money then you want more money... that's the way it works.

Anyone , seriously , who thinks that Kid does NOT wish to right wrongs of younger years , AND whom considers that hel still need a shillin' when hes late 20s is patently smokin' better green than I am ..

An' that's not allowed .

#CarryOn

Just as if people in general with money think like that, the more they've got the more they want, judging by the way you word things that green you smokes doing you no good Mu****a

Good shout. But the point with Wayne is, he hasn't forgotten. Clearly. He has regret, whereas most players don't give a [Poor language removed].

That's just not how footballers think though, what Bill Gates worth and what Rooney's worth is a whole different ball game lar, there will be clubs with more to offer than Bill Kenwright desperate to sign him, if he's still got anything to offer, he's an Evertonian YES, but not like me, he doesn't pay fortunes travelling everywhere to watch them

Suspect he will return one day, it'll be a massive circus but think it'll end in tears.

He mostly strolls around at Utd now, still scores, but imo down to the clear dominance Utd have in the EPL.

On the margins in big games especially europe and england (dogmeat I know), could see him getting frustrated at ANY lesser outfit, red cards arguing with fans could see it going off.

Be interesting at least.

I hope he does come back, imagine him an jelavic up top...cant see jelaavic stickin round that long tho...
