But lets have a look at my original two.

Reid finished 7th twice in a row with newly promoted sunderland.
Allardyce finished 8th, 6th, 8th, 7th with newly promoted Bolton.

Can we all agree given they were working on smaller budgets and with less prestigious teams that's a better job than Moyes has done here?

He did it though. If finishing top 6 with a non mega rich team is really hard than how come someone as utterly awful as pardew did it?

He's showing his true 'talent' this season, as you've forgotten the word 'consistently' again......

oh & btw it was Graham Carr who should have got the most credit for their one season in the sun, as it was his astute eye for a player, that was the foundation for it. Which is why he's under contract there until he's 75.

In that case well done Tony Henry and John Ebbrell.

Allardyce had a bigger net spend than Moyes at Bolton.

He signed 2 forwards that cost £18M the pair, so no, we can't agree.

In 2002-03 Everton spent 8.25 million net, paid wages of 29.7 million and finished 7th.
Bolton spent -3.5 million (profit), paid wages of 19.0 million and finished 17th.

In 2003-04 Everton spent 1.55 million net, paid wages of 33.1 million and finished 17th.
Bolton spent 1.95 million, paid wages of 23.5 million and finished 8th.

In 2004-05 Everton spent -20.02 million net (profit), paid wages of 30.8 million and finished 4th.

In 2005-06 Everton spent 25.1 million net, paid wages of 37 million and finished 11th.

In 2006-07 Everton spent 4 million net, paid wages of 38.4 million and finished 6th.
Bolton spent 9 million, paid wages of 30.7 million and finished 7th.

Over that time Everton spent 218 million to finish 4th, 6th, 7th, 11th, 15th and 17th.
Bolton spent 160.8 million to finish 6th, 7th, 8th, 8th, 16th and 17th.

Allardyce did a better job there than moyes did here.

Of course he did love, that'll be why he got the sack.

He left to take the newcastle job and bolton never recoevered. He wasn't sacked.

I haven't mentioned that Allardydce took bolton to three semi finals and one cup final, same as moyes has done here. Or that he has an equally good record in europe. Or that he took over a struggling second flight team as opposed to one of the biggest teams in english football.

I don't need to. You live by the points per pound philosophy, you die by that philosophy. And in points per pound allardyce did better. I've provided the stats.
