The Guardian pretty much nails it in one...

lol, Ok mate, Big Sam is a better manager than Moyes, you've convinced me.

You either agree than points per pound isn't the only way to measure a manager or you agree that allardyce is a better manager than moyes, those are your only options.

Me I would go for the former but I'm not the one arguing that finishing 6th on a budget for 10th is the best we can expect from our manager and all other considerations don't matter.

Not sure what you're trying to achieve here, but if your entire tact is to try & dismiss that cash is a prime factor in dictating whether over a sustained period you can be successful in the EPL (current day btw) then you're pissing in the wind again. Timak has continually given you the facts around Moyes ENTIRE tenure & how that compares to his peers, so it's been done to death lad. You don't like Moyes - we get it.

Allardyce did do a very good £ for £ job at Bolton.

Does anyone say he didn't?

Did Bolton move on up the table when they got rid of him?

It is possible to bring other considerations than stats into the equation when forming an opinion. Things aren't that black and white. Alladyce did brilliantly for years at Bolton but to say he's better than moyes is ridiculous.

In what way exactly is the job Allarydce did at bolton inferior to the job Moyes has done here?

Is it the trophies, the cup finals, the entertainming all out attacking football, the derby results, the exciting young players he gives chances too, the games in the Cl group stages, the long runs in europe? What has Moyes bought us that Allardyce didn't bring Bolton?

Checks the stats over the last 5 years mate.

The thing is what you're all thinking when I talk about Allardyce but none of you are saying is "those stats are all very well but this is everton and I want more than dire football and 6th placed finsihes".

Congratulations, that's where I am with Moyes.

We would all love to win the league, but you can't just ignore the amount of money clubs above us are spending. It does make a difference.

Allardyce spent less at bolton to achieve similar final positions. Do we want him?

You're going on about Allardyce, but it's nonsense. When was the last time he got a team to finish top 8 consistently despite not buying a player for two years ?

Allardyce did better than Moyes then, but Moyes is a better manager and better scout now than he was five years ago. Allardyce meanwhile has stayed the same or arguably gotten worse.

When Big Sam gets a team to finish 8th/7th/6th/5th seven years in a row with our spending, then he becomes relevant.
