I'm an enemy and I never call him that, nor do I recall any serious opponent call him by his first name. It's part of his contrived chummy uncle persona which has been taken hook, line and sinker by so many people, the media included

it's not that big of a deal. can equally have a detrimental effect in that using the first name denotes not taking that politician seriously.

lots to debate about. whether we call the current Prime Minister Boris, Boris Johnson, Mr Johnson or BJ is far down the list of importance.

Boris Johnson and serious politician is a fine example of a non sequitur.

And THAT is an example of what we were jousting about. Just the sides are different. Instant (Tory) reaction to sommet online, later totally discredited.
That wasn't a simple mistake based on incomplete information or even whataboutery, that was an out and out lie for political gain - and then repeated by journalists. It's not analogous to what I posted on Johnson...or the police marksman for that matter.

Well thanks for proving my point. Once the full facts were out about the thumping video, its clearly politically motivated. Instant reaction was "Tory was thumped"

Same as your INSTANT reaction to the bridge shooting. Once the facts were out, the copper did what a trained marksman does every day of the week.

I was thinking this yesterday. I live in a fairly safe tory seat but which is surrounded by Tory / Lib Dem marginals. We usually never see anyone but have been leafleted four times in the last week by the Tories (each time a different leaflet) urging voters to see how important their vote is and what a difference it could make. They are desperate to get the vote out.
I have almost the opposite situation. I live in what I would consider a marginal: around 40K total votes in 2017, 19K for Conservative, 18K for Labour with the rest split between UKIP (as was), Lib Dems and Green. I've had 2 leaflets from the Lib Dems and a couple of their canvassers at the door, one leaflet from the Conservatives and nothing at all from Labour.

My instant reaction to the shooting was that a man had been murdered. He was, because, thankfully (for the time being anyway) we dont have a shoot to kill policy for our police. And anyone familiar with the Menezes case would (or should) have reacted the way I did.

On Johnson I reported that he swiped the phone off a journalist who was showing him a photo on it. He did...and I'm still not sure why you think I was wrong about that....

Your instant reaction to the shooting was that the copper should be in prison. That instant reaction was shown to be foolish, when the facts were uncovered.

Your instant reaction to Johnson popping the phone in his pocket was to say it was to conceal evidence. That instant reaction was shown to be foolish when the facts were uncovered.

The Tories instant reaction to one being thumped was shown to be foolish when the facts were uncovered.

I am not sure why you find that reacting to social media until the background/facts is pretty foolish. That was my point.

lies, damned lies and abuse of statistics etc

for anyone truly wanting a clear look, this is a good piece with plenty of context:

https://www.health.org.uk/news-and-...nce-and-waiting-times#lf-section-49181-anchor

The current government aren't exclusively at fault, nor are their intentions for waiting times to increase. And post-Brexit, the freed-up allocated EU funds can be used to help reduce these waiting times.

Is this a meme or have you as an actual adult just wrote that for yourself?
