Which is of course the thing here, and why there is so little trust from many on the left towards the media in general and the BBC in particular.
Take that Leeds hospital story this evening - if video didn't exist of that encounter, we would have been told by the BBC Political Editor that a Tory aide to the Health Secretary had been punched by a protestor. That is how it was initially reported - not as "allegedly hit", or "Tory sources said that an aide had been punched", but as a fact. Then the video comes out, and the rowing back begins with the focus on the inaccuracy of what sources had told journalists (which is an absurd situation to be in, given how mendacious spin doctors are anyway and Tory ones have been this election in particular).
