...things like that resonate. Corbyn should’ve showed pictures of food banks in their debate rather than obfuscated NHS documents. Gave specific examples of kids in poverty, named people who suffer because of NHS waiting times and social care.

i think Labour’s campaign has been a bit brainless, the Tories won’t believe their luck. Let’s hope they pick up in the last few days.
Labour could have referred back to how things were under the last Labour government. I googled hospital waiting times a few minutes ago and came up with an independent report financed by the Sunday Times (not a natural supporter of Labour) from 2005 and covering the period 1997 to 2005. Labour had reduced waiting times markedly by that point. As an example, waiting times for GP appointments had fallen to 2 days or less for almost 100% of GP practices. For whatever reason Labour seem ashamed of mentioning anything about the Blair/Brown years. I think on the NHS they could have a field day if they could swallow their "pride and prejudice" and admit that there were some things done under that government that they should be proud of. I think it would resonate with the general public as well.

And that is exactly why so many floaters are wary of this new lot.

Your instant reaction to the shooting was that the copper should be in prison. That instant reaction was shown to be foolish, when the facts were uncovered.

Your instant reaction to Johnson popping the phone in his pocket was to say it was to conceal evidence. That instant reaction was shown to be foolish when the facts were uncovered.

The Tories instant reaction to one being thumped was shown to be foolish when the facts were uncovered.

I am not sure why you find that reacting to social media until the background/facts is pretty foolish. That was my point.
Out of interest what are the facts behind that as he looks like he's completely trying to avoid the question and looking at the phone then the next minute he's pocketed it.

I'm not being argumentative here, I literally only just looked it up after reading the chat with @davek and it doesn't look great

The police shooter - how is my initial reaction of shock and horror at a man being killed in front of my eyes 'foolish'? The facts that went along with it are a matter of where you stand on immobilisation or shoot to kill.

On the Johnson phone thing: what word would you use to describe the taking of a phone with an image on it and it being placed into the pocket of the man who was being pushed on his response to that image? Liberation?

Tories scent blood in Labour heartlands.

Incredible to think if this projection is anywhere near accurate. I still remember 1997 vividly when the Tories were completely wiped out in Wales.

Probably the freed up Breixit funds. Sounds like a line Laura Kuenssberg would regurgitate from Tory HQ.

who?

EU take money from their member states, then re-assign it back with instructions for how to spend it. Post-Brexit, the government can decide how to assign funds themselves. This was the basis of the infamous red bus promise (where they used the gross figure, but most people weren't aware that the EU re-assign that back).

Or what issue do you have with that?

I posted it a while back. For context, I am not defending Johnson. The point I am making is that instant reactions to online stuff can bite you on the arse.

Dave said he "pocketed the phone to conceal evidence". The fact is, that after a rubbish "interview", Johnson gave the phone back and apologised.

Again mate, you prove my point. On the shooting, you were blazing that the copper was sub human scum. The facts then emerged that the bloke had fake explosive vest on. Whats he supposed to do? Check it? So, your initial reaction was disproved by facts later.

On the phone. You said Johnson took to conceal evidence. He didnt. He popped it in his pocket cos he was caught right out, like a fool. But he then apologised and gave it back.

I am not making any political point at all. More an observation that social media can and does make chumps out of us all. And every side is at it.

sod the arguments on brexit and the rest if you have a soul vote Labour ,don't wake friday and say i helped get johnson into power, and for god sake don't vote those Tory light's the liberals , give your vote to the greens if that's your viewpoint at least they are not two faced.

Interesting that was the conclusion me and Mrs R came to last night.

this social media chumping like the fiercely-partisan tweets that get linked here are actually counter-productive to their stated cause.

sometimes in my more tinfoil-hat moments i wonder whether some of these are thinktank plants...

which part of that do you have issue with, and why?

All of it. It's complete and utter fluff. This ''get Brexit done'' and then we can fix our country stuff that is being thrown about. It's disingenuous at best and misleading and cruel at worst.

We've had NINE long years of this government in power. NINE years of austerity that's left our key services in the horrendous state they are currently in. We had a hate fuelled campaign with a 350m lie plastered everywhere in order to brain wash the masses in to thinking it's Europe that's been responsible this whole time.

Now here you are rolling up as a thinking adult and typing out that leaving Europe will mean we can reduce wait times in hospitals. Just sit back for a second and reflect on how fcking stupid that line of thinking is. You've been taken in by utter nonsense and lies but not only that you are here pedalling those lies.

''Take back control''

''Get Brexit done''

''Break the deadlock''

How as an adult with critical thinking skills and the power of deduction can you possible be taken in by slogans such as those? We have had a decade to fund the NHS, a decade to tackle people living on the streets, child poverty, overcrowded classrooms, over worked NHS staff, cuts to police, the closing of police stations and much more yet here we are on the very cusp of pretending that Brexit will fix it all.

Shame on you, shame on anybody voting conservative and shame on the media for brain washing the masses.

Are you actually Neville Southall ?

The copper: I'm prepared to shift on that. He's not a subhuman scum, he's a robot trained to kill.

The phone: "popped it in his pocket". That'll be the excuse I use next time I go stealing in Tescos: "just going to pop these usb sticks in my pocket".
