It might be a coincidence but since all these illegal immigrants started coming over, I find it harder to get a parking space in my local Asda. I have to drive around a bit to get a speck and with the price of fuel this just compounds the problem. Then it's hard to get a trolley and before they came over it was trolleys a plenty. Maybe Rwanda might sort out my current predicament.

The recent uproar has been because of the red tape involved in following the legal routes to the UK that seemingly the vast majority of Ukrainians have or are following. I would imagine that if a Ukrainian lad came over on an illegal boat he would be treated as any other national would.

I seriously doubt you'll get any sensible response to any of these reasonable questions. These questions don't fit the narrative on here...

Several of the recent posts on this thread are saying that this is targeting refugees. It's not. The message was quite clear... genuine refugees, as it should be, are welcome. Illegal migrants are not welcome. I'm not sure if this Rwanda plan is the best or fairest solution. But, there does need to be some kind of effective deterrent against illegal entry. Currently, all that is needed, is to destroy/lose any kind of passport or ID, so they can't be returned to their country of origin. Perhaps being returned to a place that is worse than where they travelled from is an effective deterrent? To those who oppose this, what are the alternatives? There is no such thing as a nice deterrent.

I suppose now inflation and the cost of living has devoured those brief wage increases, those less fortunate and in desperate need of save haven have got to get it hard. The true politics as of envy at play, sneer at those on the lower run of the ladder.

We did used to belong to the EU, where we had an agreement in essence for safe EU countries to take back and process asylum claimants where they had been through that country. Sadly Johnson's Brexit deal didn't deal with that, at all.

It’s the lazy YouTube academics.

I remember once arguing with Holliday *spit* and suggested a book by a well renowned academic and he suggested a 5 min YouTube video. Then you get comments like ‘all opinions are valid’ when some people have actually had to work hard to come to an informed opinion and understand critical analysis whilst others think that their opinion on complex topics holds equal value after watching a few tic tocs.

I don't think these buffoons realise that 'doing your own research' usually requires years of dedicated education, and then you have usually just skimmed the surface of a topic you claim to have cracked and are seeing what genuine academics have missed. If only Carl sagan had facebooks comments available to him when he was alive we wouldn't have to hear about things like climate change
