As said, we're not going to solve everything by getting shut of the nuclear fleet of subs. But it'd save £3B alone in up keeping them each year. That's the annual budget of 3 large hospitals per year. If those new generation subs to be phased in by the 2030s are scrapped then that's a handful more hospitals financed for the next few years.
I know what I think is more sensible between having a hospital running or a submarine at sea every day whose use is no value to anyone.
Financially, it is having a hedge or a fence.
