In 1994, Ukraine, citing its inability to circumvent Russian launch codes, reached an understanding to transfer and destroy these weapons, and become a party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

I get the view about not liking nukes, thats fine. But the cost of them is a weak argument. Like, it would mean the destruction of thousands of jobs, and most likely the death of Barrow in Furness, for a political dogma.

As said, we're not going to solve everything by getting shut of the nuclear fleet of subs. But it'd save £3B alone in up keeping them each year. That's the annual budget of 3 large hospitals per year. If those new generation subs to be phased in by the 2030s are scrapped then that's a handful more hospitals financed for the next few years.

I know what I think is more sensible between having a hospital running or a submarine at sea every day whose use is no value to anyone.

Its what you do with power that matters...unless you're a career box ticker like Starmer, in which case attaining it is the end that justifies the means.

There's very little to recommend this Starmer Party to any socialist.

Oh and tell me Dave, when was the last Socialist party in power in our Country, was it led by Harold Wilson ?
