As said, we're not going to solve everything by getting shut of the nuclear fleet of subs. But it'd save £3B alone in up keeping them each year. That's the annual budget of 3 large hospitals per year. If those new generation subs to be phased in by the 2030s are scrapped then that's a handful more hospitals financed for the next few years.

I know what I think is more sensible between having a hospital running or a submarine at sea every day whose use is no value to anyone.

And what would happen to the thousands of people who employment relied heavily on trident

And the towns whose economy is built around trident?

So you're saying the Green party is a Socialist party ? And that's why you're voting for them. Oh and tell me Dave, when was the last Socialist party in power in our Country, was it led by Harold Wilson ? And this is from a man who in 1988 with my wife who worked there also spent over a year on strike over low pay. So I do know a little about Socialism Dave.
There was no socialist party in power in Britain. There was the Labour Party before Blair that had a lot of policies on common ownership and curbing the role the market played in our lives, so socialists voted for it and worked within it to nudge it further leftwards to take up more progressive policy.

No, I'm not.
Today's SCUM NEWSPAPER has a small article on the Greens on page six under the rather lovely headline "Not Happy? Join the Greens". My quote's correct and the article is something we'd be happy with, if not exactly as we'd have written it ourselves. This is the second time I've been mentioned in the Sun in recent weeks, although the less said about the first time the better!

The Sun is not natural territory for those of us on the left but it's important for us to get our message out as far and wide as possible.

The Greens must broaden our appeal into sections of society not always associated with Green support - working class communities for example. That means we need to make sure we're not just talking to people in our comfort zone or trying to get into left of centre broadsheets like The Guardian.

If we're to win two million votes in the European elections of 2014, which I believe is a realistic target, that means raising our game and getting into the higher circulation newspapers. Getting into the "Red Tops" is not an added luxury, it's vital if we're to reach core, working class voters.

That's why in my Plan for Leadership (pdf) I said I wanted to be quoted at least once in the Sun, Mirror and Mail over the next 100 days - that's one down and two to go!

We wont always be able to dictate the terms of the story or how it's written - but it's essential that we do our best to raise our profile across all sections of British society without compromising our message.

I'd like to congratulate the press team for getting us into The Sun on Sunday and I hope this will be the first of many positive stories about the Greens in what is, for us, a new medium.

Here are you heroes praising being in The S**.

So you need to find new heroes.

So that should tell you then, you are not getting a Socialist party, or even the type of Socialist party you want. Unless I'm thinking it's by a revolution Dave, do you think we will have one Dave ?

The only thing he'll be delivering is the S*n.

He's on his way to yours right now Dave!

One thing I've learned today is that AI doesn't fully understand what a paperboy is. Or can 'do' Starmer without him looking like a monster of the week from Buffy.

There's 29,000 people employed in Barrow. Only 1,000 of them are working on preparing for the construction of the new generation of Vanguard subs.

Of course Barrows ship yards cant be shut overnight as it'd sling about 5,000 people working for BAE out onto the dole, and that'd have ramifications for ancillary trades and the service sector. But there should be a decision to mothball that next programme and build up alternative employment lines by making cargo ships or naval ships for Britain or foreign powers...as it has done in the past.

They're not my heroes and I condemn that leader for working with the S*n. But they have more left leaning policies than 'Labour' so what should I do if Im on the left? Would it be rational for me to vote 'Labour' when it's not a leftist party?
