The Chase for 4th

Beat Wigan and it's 33 points from half a season. Almost half way to 70. A marginally better second half of the season to our first is all we need. Hopefully with a fresh and focused Felli, a finally fit Mirallas and maybe a couple of shrewd January additions, it should be within our reach. We've got to travel to a few tough place yet, mind. OT, Emirates, Stamford Bridge, Anfield and White Hart Lane. Means there should also be some very winnable home games, like.

Some difficult away games, but we really need to stop dropping points at home.

Arsenal and spurs for me although maybe it's the pessimist in me I don't think we'll get it but without doubt the next few games are crucial . IF we can beat Wigan and Chelsea then that'd be massive for us and may well give us the boost we need for a serious challenge and it'd turn the run (dominated by draws ) into a very decent run of form.

On the RS I really think we are as blues caught up in their history but I think aa well some pundits get caught up in the historically based obsession . They might only be a few points off the top four but their are a lot of teams between them and it who'd all have to drop points . They will push top 6/7 for me but no better , they've got QPR & stoke away I suppose 6 points you'd have to say they're in the race but 1 or none they could really be struggling .

This period is always vital my big concern with Everton is the squad and the amount of games already missing Felliani & now maybe Gibson we struggle in depth and whilst others strengthen we may see a loan or two which isn't exactly inspiring but it is almost certainly what'll happen.

So long and boringly I think spurs and arsenal for fourth followed by us and us by the RS , however the next few games could really change that .

and if that is true thats moyes and fellaini gone, which will probably set us back a few seasons

Anyway, i see Liverpool dropping at least three points in their next two games. Chelsea have three games in the space of a week with ours being the last of the three, we need to take advantage and beat both them and Wigan. No more 'happy with a draw' bollocks.

Here here mate.

Based on this Chelsea performance and the fact that they have no Champions League to worry about i think they'll push on and make third theirs, with fourth being a fight between ourselves, Arsenal, and Spurs. Still reckon West Brom will drop off, their recent form backs this up imo.

just a shame we cant keep our best players on the field at once cant wait to get the next two games out the way and have felli back and hopefully kev will be back in the next 2-3 weeks

I`d be happy with a point against chelsea, I`d be over the moon if we beat them. Need to beat Wigan though or i`ll be disapointed.
Arsenal will get 4th place. hopefully im wrong about that.

Can't be happy with anything but a win every single home game from now on imo. Even if we win every one we wouldn't have enough for the top four.

It'll all be down to who can put a run together. The run of draws might have been our sticky patch for the season, in which case we will have done very well to keep picking up points. Chelsea are vulnerable defensively and are still looking to find the right balance. It will be a huge blow to Arsenal if Walcott leaves for nothing and they might struggle if Cazorla loses form or fitness. Spurs aren't the most consistent side either and rely heavily on Bale. I do think that West Brom will slip away because they have such a small squad and I'm concerned about the RS closing in on us. Rodgers has talked about balancing the books all season, so he might look to offload players like Carroll and Henderson to pay for Sturridge and Ince. The fees mentioned seem inflated and they'll soon run out of fringe players to hock though.
