Moyes record in cup competions.

I'm not one calling for his head right now but his overall record across his two spells in the League Cup and FA Cup need closer scrutiny.

As you can see under him we barely make any inroads in either trophy suffering early exits in both competitions in so many seasons losing to teams like Shrewsbury, Oldham, Brentford (when they were in League One), Reading, Leeds (when they were a struggling Championship team) and those infamous defeats to the worst Liverpool team in about 50 years at Wembley and the capitulation to relegation bound Wigan a season later.

He has to take plenty of blame for our trophy drought as no one has steered the club for longer during it and the Cups are our only shot at glory and his record shows he's notmuch interest in them. It's a joke it took until the 2007/08 season, 5 and a half years after he took the job, to even get us a to a quarter final.

He doesn’t think we were good enough in majority of those seasons to win a trophy. Whether he was right or not this sort of mentality just seeps through to the players. Weakened line ups, and players who know it’s not the manager’s priority equals that record.

Watch his pre match press conference yesterday, before he talks about the semi final against Utd and the final.

Vinny asks him if he loves the FA Cup, he pauses and then says yeah, I think it's really important to the supporters.

It's all about the league, it's always been about the league. He'll take a cup run if it presents itself, but it isn't the be all and end all and his record 100% shows it.
