Don't see why we can't aim for 3rd and an automatic spot, especially if we can beat chelsea

I agree, Chelsea have 2 games in hand but we play them shortly. They aren't the team they have been in the past and there is a reasonable chance of us beating them at home, leaving us 4 points clear and they still have 2 games in hand. I really think that 3rd and 4th are up for grabs this season and there's no reason why we shouldn't be pushing for that 3rd spot. We've shown that we can outplay the teams around us and even the top 2 haven't beaten us yet.

Mind you it's some credit to West Brom that they are in the mix, especially as they were the only team to beat us!

only arsenal and spurs really. Chelsea will surely have too much quality although with a terrible manager at the helm, anything is possible. don't consider liverpool as a real threat. people keep overeacting when they win the odd game at home against an average team. Remember they shipped 3 to a team tipped by some to take the drop. They should be aiming for top 8.

I don't know if i'd accept 5th place this season. The more the weeks go by and we keep touching 4th, the more it is a possibility. I see genuine weaknesses in just about any team in the league, but arsenal's experience of a constant top 4 finish should prove vital - although not a lot of their best team have been there that long.

Can't believe some people are predicting the ****e to be in the mix for 4th. They really are a very average side. I reckon they will get 1 or 2 points from Stoke and QPR away. The only reason they aren't way behind is because us, Arsenal and Spurs haven't been convincing yet. I think at least 2 out of those 3 teams will come good soon and pull away from the rest.

If we have our usual finish to the season, which consists of us being the form team behind City and Utd., then we will finish 3rd/4th.

If we come out of the transfer Window stronger than we go in, then we'll be in the mix. There are two places up for grabs and only five teams/ squads who have what it takes, that's Chelsea, Everton, Arsenal, Spurs and the Pinkies. If the lucifer's lose any more ground over Christmas though, they're out. If we allow any key players to leave in January then we're similarly goosed.

People seriously consider Liverpool as a side who will finish fourth? Really? They will finish about 9th I reckon. They are distinctly average. Swansea plus Suarez that is all they are. Likes of Allen and Shelvey are first teamers shows how far they have fallen. All season I have thought it is between us Arse and Spurs. I have seen the other two quite a bit this season and I honestly think we are the better side. Yesterday was a massive win.

We have some tough away games to come and we must pick up max points in the supposedly easier games we have at goodison.
