Lots of mallets knocking about too...The poll suggests that there's a blind dog epidemic
We finished 6th the last time Moyes went into a season having not signed a contract, which was an improvement on the previous 3 seasons.
The thing I always think with these 'manager stay or go' polls is that if it's split right down the middle then really the answer is to make change.
I'm obviously biased, having voted no - but don't think its helpful for the fanbase to be so divided on such a crucial issue.
We don't even need to be winning trophies. Success would be winning derbies - and not losing them in injury time - or reliably holding on to 3-1 leads against the league leaders rather than defacing the bed with the contents of our inferiority in added time. Success would be attacking sides and setting the team up at home to win - and doing so more often than not. Success would be making the latter stages of the league cup and extending our FA Cup interest beyond March, now and then. Success would be developing the young players and increasing their value. Success would be putting away a side - even a very good side - when we have them where we want them, like when we lead 3-1 with seven minutes left at home in front of a frenzied crowd...Who was the last team to go from relegation battles to a sustained period of success? Manchester city in the days you were allowed to spend money to get there. We all want a period of success but getting there is more difficult than ever, there's financial rules in place to stop that sort of thing.
Agree we're nowhere near that point but I wouldn't a GOT poll completely irrelevant. Almost 300 votes in this poll already and I would say if that number kept expanding the ratio would stay about the same.An internet poll is an irrelevance. Only ever an issue if that starts to translate into a protest inside the ground, which is nowhere even close.
I did this one in Feb

I'm not saying it's impossible to have a good season in that situation, I'm saying it's a challenge in it's own right and is clearly not the same as just the vague possibility of a manager being sacked. The last time Moyes himself was in the last year of a contract West Ham only won 4 games in the second half of the season and lost games 5-0 twice, 6-0, 5-1 and 5-2 with many fans and pundits believing that the contract situation had become a circus and was affecting performances on the pitch. The last time Everton went into a season with a manager in his last season we clearly regressed and the manager apparently gave up halfway through the season which personally I doubt was a coincidence. Of course it's possible to have plans in place to work around these situations and minimise the impact, but nothing i've seen from the way this club is run and the decisions we've made suggests we're in that position. We finished 6th the last time Moyes went into a season having not signed a contract, which was an improvement on the previous 3 seasons.
You can be appreciative of his job he's done in the last 18 months and still want him gone in the summer.Agree we're nowhere near that point but I wouldn't a GOT poll completely irrelevant. Fanbase is definitely divided on this issue. Difference to past situations like this is that no one thinks Moyes is going to take us to oblivion. Generally been a more nuanced discussion, certainly won't be any protests if he stays.
I can appreciate some of the arguments being made to change (I may not agree with them all), but this bit is patently untrueYou can be appreciative of his job he's done in the last 18 months and still want him gone in the summer.
We are almost at peak Moyes now so for me that's not good enough for this club. For far too long we have been a nothing club, it has to change in the summer.
Aston Villa surely?
Even Newcastle have won a pot. Crystal Palace too very recently.
Winning a European trophy? So what is peak Moyes?
