It annoys me too LL. I don’t like saying it. Whole thing is a mess. And I don’t care if it’s Republican votes being scrapped. That’s not the point. They can moan about there Republican mail votes been scrapped all they like but we need clarity.

You can’t scrap them with no evidence of fraud. It was a valid form of voting when folks chose how to vote.

Of course it matters. Whoever is president dictates what sort of trade deal we get in a post brexit world. So yes makes a difference.

Well if you don't love Trump why are you ragging on people who are happy Trump has gone? Proper weird you are. If people want to be happy Trump is gone, that's their right. Same as its your right not to be happy or even not celebrate.
No it doesn’t. If the American economy would benefit more from one form of post Brexit trade deal, that is what will dictate it rather than whoever is in the Oval Office as a Primary driver.

Im going on a loop with you here.

I agree. As much as we'd all enjoy seeing him locked up, and it would be real justice, pardoning him would be a huge conciliatory gesture that would probably remove his claws and still leave him in the financial mess he is doubtlessly in
Then let him resign now and have Pence pardon him.

Ford pardoning Nixon established that as a precedent and there's no way Trump deserves Dem mercy in a way Nixon (who presided over what was effectively the last traditionally liberal administration notwithstanding his own comparative conservatism) did not.

No pardon. No way. If Trump has broken the law as president then its prosecution for him and Biden should just stay out of it. Chances are he won't be pursued vigorously, but Biden should not pardon Trump, and he won't. He won't even lose sleep thinking about whether to do so. He just won't pardon him.
If it’s anything completely egregious (i.e. blatant treason), then I’d be okay with the federal government pursuing it. Otherwise, I think it’s best to just stay out of it. He’s facing plenty of charges at the state level as well, so maybe let NY deal with him. Trump has already spent the last five years leading “Lock them up!,” chants about various individuals. In free societies, imprisoning one’s political opponents is just a bad look IMO, and runs counter to any goal Biden might have of healing/uniting the country.

We have clarity. I just posted how common absentee, mail-in voting is. You are repeating a dumb trope that has no basis.

But the thing is, it’s neither the end or the beginning of anything. Democracy, particularly one with as many choke points as the American system, is a GRIND. A lot of times, the victories are small, few, and far between. Not unlike supporting Everton, honestly. But guess what, the blues won the equivalent of a derby yesterday for the first time in years, and effectively stopped the reds from winning the league. Doesn’t mean they can’t win it next year, or the year after, but it also doesn’t mean we shouldn’t celebrate at least for one night.
It’s a poor analogy though. Us beating the Kopites is never going to make then switch teams or behave in a way which is better for the league as a whole.

As I’ve said, I get the relief in the US, it’s more the bandwagon jumping over here that’s a bit of a headscratcher.

(from CNN) Why disenfranchise these people?

How the military vote works

Oftentimes, service members spend time and money clearing hurdles that their civilian counterparts are usually spared in order to ensure their ballot is counted.

"Military voters have to work extra hard to vote," said Sarah Streyder, the founder of Military Vote Coalition, a nonprofit endorsed by leading veteran and military organizations that works with service members and their spouses to ensure they can vote.

"It's a complicated registration and submission process. I know people who had to pay upwards of $50 just to overnight a provisional ballot because their official ballots never got to them in time."

Streyder ticked off multiple examples: a military spouse who lives in Texas, where her husband is stationed, but votes in her home state of Pennsylvania; spouses who live in Japan but vote in Oklahoma, Texas, Florida and Georgia.

"It's demoralizing," she said of the President's attack on legal ballots that arrive after Election Day.

Military families typically move to new duty stations every few years, including overseas. Since 9/11, service members have been more likely to deploy, often repeatedly, and they have cast ballots by the millions from war zones, overseas postings and states where they temporarily reside.

In Georgia, service members who are serving away from home, both inside the US and overseas, have until close of business Friday for their ballots to be received, as long as they were postmarked on or before Election Day.

In Nevada, ballots postmarked by Election Day can be received as late as November 10.

Some states enforce deadlines for receiving the ballots but don't require a postmark, due to the differences in how mail is processed domestically and overseas, especially on military installations or in combat zones.

Pennsylvania and North Carolina are two examples.

In Pennsylvania, these absentee ballots must be signed by the night before the election and received by November 10. A postmark is not required. In North Carolina, home to some of the most frequently deployed Army forces in the nation, that deadline is even later: November 12 with no postmark required.

As the Federal Voting Assistance Program, a voter assistance and education program created by the Department of Defense explains, "Due to varying mail pick up times, the day you 'mail' your election mail may not be the day the postal facility postmarks it. You may ask the mail clerk to hand stamp the election material so that a date is clearly visible. In certain situations a handwritten postmark and signature from you or a notarizing official may be sufficient."
