The issue is that he probably will still be twitting under that rock but in jail he could be a bit more subdued. Thus I rather the latter even if he supporters want to make a martyr of him.

Given the sheer size of the typical California ballot, and all the races/propositions/measures on it, I have no idea how anyone can do it at a voting booth in any informed way!

So true. California has the 3rd largest constitution in the world (behind India and Alabama), and it plagued by populist-led propositions where the threshold for getting a proposition on the ballot is quite easy, something like the number of signatures required for a proposition to get on ballot is 5% of the people who voted in the previous gubernatorial election. Crazy.

If he's convicted of a crime but doesn't do jail time he can't run again in 2024 can he?

You think the gun tooting supporters who are declaring unconditional love for him are just going to stand by and watch? Especially when most consider an eye for an eye as acceptable behaviour.

They will falsely see it as evidence of a Democrat fix and that is bound to store up more trouble in the long run by widening the divide. I would think most of them are all set for him to run again in (less than) 4 years time.

Gee, how surprising, another conservative piece that is anti-Biden and an painting overblown picture of Biden squeaking by (by the second largest margin of victory since 2000). Except that the pre-Covid polls showed the same advantage for BIden as post-covid. And these claims of Trump gaining the Black vote are often repeated but are pretty small, being a jump from 6% to 8% among black men, and seemingly overlooking the huge amount of work/canvasing and voting by black women for Biden. And the gains among the "Latino" vote are due to a mix of things: Cubans disliking Democrats (recall Janet Reno and Elian Gonzalez) and Biden not being a good candidate for them (whereas Obama's was the highest on record). So no, the Democrats are not as in dire shape as is claimed (though Biden running in 2024 would NOT be a good move for Dems). These data-free opinion pieces from conservative outlets like "The American Conservative" feel a bit desperate and weird.

Conservatives are delighted by the outcome and very optimistic about their prospects in 2024. I found that interesting, and while I can appreciate that for you it's provocative and emotionally distressing, I thought others might be interested, too.
