Grandparents were on holiday in Malta & noticed a couple of players, turned out they were in Malta to play Hamrun Spartans & staying in the Hotel. Once they found out they were blues my grandad got taxied to the game & everything, said he was sat in Directors Box with them, I did have a prog but it fell to a loft clearout when I was out of the country.

Darren Gibson off his face in Marbella....his mate helping him navigate his way out of a toilet cubical!
In the light of all his driving accidents, this sounds pretty depressing.

Baines is apparently quite shy and quiet, according to people who've met him. I've never seen a blue in the wild but one of my mates was at a Peter Hook gig, and there was a very tall man near her speaking German. It was, apparently, Jurgen Klopp. She has a massive crush on him.

Talking of gigs, I was at a Stranglers gig at the Academy in Liverpool a few years ago and Stuart Pearce was in the crowd getting well stuck in.

He`s massively into Punk and New Wave.

Still a massive bell end though.

Seen Peter Crouch in the big Tesco on Rose Lane, the day after he had played a home game for Stoke. Felt sorry for him tbh, he tried to hide in the aisles but we could still see the top of his head bobbing along!

Same story, but Fellaini for Crouch. And a different Tesco.

Saw Scott Gemmill in my halls of residence many years ago when he was seeing a bird on the floor above me.
Saw Abel Xavier with his bird in a fairly average restaurant on St Johns Lane in town. I always wondered why he wasn’t patronising a nicer establishment with his income.
And just remembered, Tea Factory in town about 15 odd years ago, a shed load of international referees having an afternoon meal/meeting.

& Rugby League apparently, thinks nothing of cramming in 3 games on a weekend, he was on the radio & was managing 4 as 2 were on same day and not far apart.

Long story but ended up in the players section in stand at Brentford v Southampton. Alex Oxlade Chamberlain injured for Southampton had his feet on the back of my seat most the match and cheered when he checked his phone to see Portsmouth losing

Playing footy for my school aged 11, I looked across to other schools parents along the sideline and saw Howard Kendall standing there watching. His son was playing against us!

(I used to deliver papers to his house too, but never saw him there. I saw him more when worked in local pub though :-)

Although not an Everton player, I also got the mik taken out of me when playing footy with a 5 a-side evening club when I was younger. I mentioned the new guy up front was actually pretty good and always looked for the easy pass, slotted nicely etc. It was supersub, David Fairclough. Hadn't realised lol

John Gidman, invariably bevvied, in Penny Lane Wine Bar. Occasionally saw Howard Kendall in the same establishment or in Jallons across the road.

Mike Newell, aged about 15, in our kitchen and me making him chips, My brothers played cricket for Liverpool schoolboys with him and his brother. They were all mates.
