Should Moyes be in charge for the last two games?

Strange that everywhere else in the world they stopped building out of town stadiums as attendances were dropping, especially the states, and, funnily enough they started to build them, erm, in city centres....where there's a will eh?
The USA does not have mass-transit rail apart from the odd city - getting to the stadia there is a long traffic jam. Liverpool does have mass-transit rail reaching all Merseyside and beyond. There are disused lines awaiting a stadium with excellent road links. Liverpool the city, and its vital new centre expansion, is more important than a misplaced stadium - a large concrete ugly lump. Think of getting fan there quick and easy and in comfort and you are 2/3 there. http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/watercity/Rapid-Transit-Football.html I don't want this to end up a stadium thread. The point is the club mismanaged the stadium issue big time.

How about tapping up players?

He's at United mate, he doesn't need to..
Kenwright here is x amount of pounds if you sell me Leighton..
Okay
Baines would you like to come to United.. yes..
done.
Why would he possibly need to tap up any of our players?

Negativity around the stadium on match days from fans, as can be seen through the numerous threads

True this is new, hell they may even boo our team or a substitution.

General disruption to the plans of our club.

No, the opposite, the plans of our club = what Moyes wants at current. Now they need to think for themselves again, Moyes has given the board a couple of weeks to get their s**t together whilst he continues the work he's been doing for over a decade. The disruption is that he's leaving, not that he is seeing out his contract.

That Moyes is staying affords the club a little time to consider and to appoint a manager, gives Moyes time to talk to the new manager, perhaps go through various things, to write up any change over notes he may have, to leave instructions for the coaching staff etc, to say goodbyes and to finish on a high by winning the next couple of games.

Are you saying because they are United they do not need to tap players up? That's naive if you don't believe it happens. As for negativity around the ground, when apart from the Wigan game has there been sustained anger and animosity around Goodison, it really could be toxic on Sunday if not careful. As for Moyes and his successor it seems Moyes had already spoken to Bill about these ideas. Moyes had already stated in his press conference that everything is in place for next season so the new manager can wok with personnel who will still be here from July 01st

Me neither, but don't get your point about rail links, neither goodison or anfield are connected? Anyway, by your rational the Bestway site would have been a tremendous opportunity, 5 minutes from existing inter city rail, the hotel complexes and the nightlife, all in the district of Everton....

Fergie quote about utd fans: "some are only here to take in the sights and eat crisps..."

There there now.

Get into em lid!

For a senior executive, 20 minutes is a lengthy farewell. Moyes didn't clean the showers you know! ;o)

Sheeds & Foxy were just like the rest of us. Using your analogy about a job, you don't announce you're leaving until you actually get it, not when you first apply. Kenwright suspected it when they stopped planning for next season, and he said nothing. (probably too busy looking under every stone)

"I wasn't planning on leaving. My contract was running out but we were planning for pre-season. All we've ever done is keep planning. I've got everything ready for next season and the chairman and everyone knows the route we need to take next season. This is a club competing to be in Europe."

Bunch of fkin kopite wums on here thinking we are better than Barca and that Everton fans that think Moyes did well and deserves a good send off, and that honoring your contract is actually not the lowest of the low are plastic fans and should fk off and support United. Seriously embarrassing, only rivalled by the inanely childish.. yeah, tell em shouts afterwards.
Its clearly kids hour on here at the mo.

I'm never eating crisps again.....

Lol, you talk of respect and dignity then froth at the mouth at the thought of our manager seeing out his contract. Turn on your fellow fans. Turn on the manager... why because he's staying for 2 games to finish his job.

Just quite simply fk off. If your that infuriated that you want to take up the lanterns and pitch forks... just stay away for a couple of weeks.

Lowest of the low ffs. I would hate to think what would be said if he just left, abandoning us without saying goodbaye, leaving us in the lurch with no manager etc... Pretty sure that's how it would be seen.
Yes he's signed for United in the summer... BUT HE IS STILL OUR MANAGER. If you can't get behind him for 2 more games.. just go away for a fortnight.

This ludicrous level of faux outrage is far more embarassing than anything I have heard aimed at those that still support him till he leaves.

Grow up ffs.

That people are quoting NSNO like its a real thing says everything you need to know about the stupidity of these shouts.

First of all don't tell me to F off. That's not needed.

I am raging at this because it makes the club I love look pathetic.

You seem to think it's standard practice for a manager to do this. Well it isn't. It has never happened before. For good reason. He's now United's next manager.

I am not wanting to insult the man. I'd happily give him a round of applause if he came on to the pitch at half time to say good bye - but not as manager. Being Everton manager should mean something.

"abandoning us without saying goodbye, leaving us in the lurch with no manager etc... " - You mean quitting with dignity as every other manager does?

Maybe you don't remember Everton being a big club? Or having a manager with class and dignity? I do.

We all know contracts in football mean nothing. I take your "honouring" and see it with "running the clock down so we get no compensation".

Do you even go to the match?

And when on your notice you switch off. You start to download anything you think of benefit onto a memory stick, any projects, information that might come in handy, packing your stuff into boxes ready to take off.
As much as anyone says 'professional' it won't be, it can't be, things are different now. Had he not left such a 'committed' note on the man utd website he may have got away with it.

That 2 other places announced the official news ahead of EFC shows how little respect there is towards EFC, we're there to be picked off and treated like children, such is our standing in a business sense.

By all means Moyes can, and to a lot should, be there on Sunday, but not by any means should he be allowed to take charge, lead or represent Everton FC, he has chosen to go. Let hi sit in the stands with his beloved Bill and take an applause, together, but let Irvine, Round or Ferguson lead the team, show that somewhere amongst the patronising and condescending we've been put through this last week, that deep down there is a bit of self respect and dignity left at this great club.

This is my feeling.

I don't think it classless to ask a man who will manage another club in three league games time not to be in control of club affairs once he's committed to another.

He has been thanked and no doubt will again most likely when he returns with his new side, the world seems to need to make a spectacle or gesture out of everything these days.

He's also trousered what £30m+ from us in wages? We hardly have a pot to p*ss in but have one of the top 10 best paid managers in the world. Moyes did okay for us and we did bloody great for him.

Now Bill tell him to clear his desk and [Poor language removed] off to Manchester.
