Funes Mori 50k - 10M
Williams 75k - 4M
Browning 10k - 0.5M
Pennington 20k - 2.5M
Galloway 25k - 1M
Garbutt 30k - 1M
Martina 35k - 1M
Schneiderlin 120k - 15M
McCarthy 60k - 15M
Klaassen 70k - 10M
Bolasie 90k - 15M
Mirallas 70k - 4M
Rooney 150k - free
Sandro 120k - 5M
Tarashaj 20k - 1M
Niasse 55k - 15M

That's as much as 1 million PER WEEK potentially saved on wages and 100 MILLION potentially gained in an ideal world where we are able to just sell all of these.

In a realistic world we are likely getting back something like 75% of these expected numbers. 750k per week and 75M from sales = 115 million to spend on fees and wages of new players + anything we have already before sales. If we want to buy 5 new players and they would have 100k wages on average - that means we should be able to have around 90 million as our transfer budget + anything we already have right now.

This is why this 'sell to buy' is absolutely ok for me. It is a way different thing than in past. Selling deadwood to buy a real quality.

The squad isn’t big in terms of depth as we lack severely in many positions. It’s “big” because we are including the many u23 players who keep being given new deals when they clearly aren’t cutting it

You need a big squad though if you want to compete in all competitions and have a strong bench. What we do need though is a big squad full of quality and not deadwood. I agree with cutting the size down to get rid of the players who aren’t good enough but my point was that it is more apparent this year having to sell more as we don’t have a star name to fetch big money

Posted on another thread. City and Spurs only used 25 differently players in the premiership last season. Man Utd and Liverpool 27. They all had far more many games to contend with throughout their season.

Our squad is far far too big.

our squad is also far, far too useless

The Toffees?...The Chocolate Teapots more-like.

Come to think of it, it was very apt that the Chang elephant on our jerseys was white, because we maintain a herd of them; expensive to keep and neither use nor ornament.

I think it’s quite obvious we don’t have much money. Clearly there is more due to the tv rights deal. And last year more due to the sale of lukaku but believe me there isn’t as much as many believe there is. Far had stated even as recently as yesterday that he isn’t willing to throw much money in
I believe there will be money available but Mosh has finally woken up to the fact that we got stiffed last year over transfer dealings especially Iceland's protracted move from Swansea. We are now putting it out there that we do not have a bottomless treasure chest so the expectations of other clubs will be reduced when it comes to transfer fees and if we show we are prepared to walk away then that puts the selling club under pressure. That's what we should have done with Swansea but we allowed them to dictate to us and once we blinked they screwed us royally. This is a wholly different set up and I suspect Brands won't be as pliable in negotiations which is why Moshiri brought him in.

And yes, we need to keep Blue Bill well away. Suspect Mosh may give him use of his yacht for a couple of months this summer

Imagine a world where we don’t have Bolasie, Williams, Klaasen on the books

Oh, new contacts for them did you say?

Everton spent £150m last summer plus a further £40m on players in January for a desperately poor return. Asked whether Moshiri would make similar funds available this summer, Brands replied: “No. First of all we need to offload players to raise money [to spend], and also salary-wise. But it’s not only a money thing. Of course money is important but also, for a coach, it is not workable to start with 38 players in your squad. We have to look for a squad Marco can work with and I think there always has to be space for young players to come to the first team.

“That has to be, let’s say, 25-30 players. Now there are 38 and a lot are not young any more. They are players who have arrived. We have to be honest when we take the decision with these players. Do they have prospects here at Everton? Some of the conversations will not be nice but I think Marco must start with a squad that everyone is eager to play for and has prospects to play.”

Just in case anybody hasnt read the words.

I mean how people can see any fault at all with this is beyond me.
Perfectly sums up the situation at Everton. I think life under Marcel will be rather unsettling for those who don't put in the effort or perform to the expected level.

The Squads no bigger than it has been for years. It’s just that now there isn’t a stones or a lukaku to sell we are having to sell numerous players to compensate rather than one

The squad is massive for a team not playing in europe. We could have 3 starting 11s. The likes of mourinho always say yiu shoukd have a squad of around 25 and his teams plsy in europe every year.

The spare 12 players we have are costing at least 12-22m a year in wages.
