Seamus should never have been on the bench. The club should have given him the big fanfare about 20 minutes before kick off, with a lap of appreciation.
End of the day, as soon as he announced it, the club socials were brimming with stats, interviews, misty eyed tales and video collages. Then they forgot to actually do the main thing properly. We don’t need our neighbours to point out that it was embarrassing.
Mother Theresa.Bizarre how many odd people cannot bear to see any kind of differing viewpoint on St Seamus Coleman of Killbegs
You can't believe we got it so wrong and they got it right? Where have you been since 1970? We even managed to help form the PL and then be irrelevant.Liverpool doing their tributes to Salah and Robertson before their final game on Sunday.
I cant believe we got it so wrong and they got it right.
Maybe they saw the shambles the Coleman tribute was and decided to do it that way.
A captain from the touchline. What an asset. What a great post this is.
You'd never say half these niceties for any other of our players btw.
I can't believe Osman is in the conversation. It cements just what non-entities we areAs much as I love the fella, I can see the argument for not holding Dunc in that regard, left the club and was ill-disciplined on it at times. The only thing I can say about Baines and Osman are that they played in a time were we still expected Everton to push for Europe and challenge for the cups, so the club's failure to do so probably unfairly colours their time here for some people, whereas with Coleman, he spent most of his time as captain trying the keep heads above water in a dire time all while not being the same player he once was post-injury. So Coleman, by being seemingly the only guy that cares, is sort of elevated to old-school blues. Also, I think Coleman was a much more obvious vocal and feisty leader than Baines and Osman ever were, so again that colours peoples' perception.
Surely after 17 years of service to the club you have to think he deserved a better send off that what was given, fans demand loyalty from players, surely when it is given then some sort of mark of respect should be given back?Bizarre how many odd people cannot bear to see any kind of differing viewpoint on St Seamus Coleman of Killbegs

A completely irresponsible take without any context. Everton are much maligned.
From his native land. The various takes put forward by the host are something else.

He should have gone 5 years ago , this long goodbye with hardly a game for three years has made his eventual departure such a non event that you can't blame fans leaving early. He was a good player and a good servant, mate. I don't think anyone is having him as a "legend" though, that wasn't the point we were making.
So now we are expected to pay high ticket prices, sit through poor performance after poor performance, but are expected to stay put in our seats after another crap result to see off a player who has been barely on the field (for us) for the best part of 2 seasons. The I hear people going on about how bad his reception was and trying to make out how ungrateful the fans are towards him the more I`m glad he`s left the club. I just hope we are now at a stage where we will not keep holding onto players that we should be moving on just for to fill a slot on the bench.A completely irresponsible take without any context. Everton are much maligned.
