Seamus Coleman Calls Time On Everton Playing Career

Your weirdness about this guy is just as weird as the attention the club is putting on him. Baines deserved just as much for his actual contribution on the pitch. Maybe he didn't want the attention but Seamus doesn't strike me as completely different in that way. So what the f*** is this all about? And, like yourself, I'm quite fine with being "out of step" with the general public, thx.
It doesn't really matter what people post on the Internet who know very little about him
Look at the respect and tributes paid to him by those he played with, trained under, worked with , ex players, ex managers. Thats the measure of the man. They know him and they all cannot speak highly enough of him. And the majority of supporters also know this.
There will always be a few empty vessels.

Surely after 17 years of service to the club you have to think he deserved a better send off that what was given, fans demand loyalty from players, surely when it is given then some sort of mark of respect should be given back?
He’s had 3 years sat on his backside pocketing a wedge for doing literally nothing apart from playing for Ireland mate.

Not many other clubs out there would be so generous…

I've trusted my intuition my whole life and I'm not about to change that because it's served me well; whether people agree with me or not, I don't care but I'm going to put it out there regardless. Being 5,000 miles away means I've had to put a lot of attention and intent in to this football club. What's going on here, in my 30 plus years following, is highly unusual whether they want to admit it or not, so it makes me question the intent. Maybe that's a slam against the football club, I don't know, but I'm just putting it out there that to me something doesn't feel quite right. And I think that might be more to do with the football club than Seamus. Maybe they're finally cleaning their act up, I don't know but it feels out of place, sadly.

What feels out of place exactly?
All the tributes from team mates and managers past and present. Are you suggesting it is all made up?
