Now the club just need to get the stadium tribute on for him. A half empty stadium was a disgrace and should have been avoided easily by doing the send off pre-game.

At his best, one of the best in the league without a doubt. However, that realistically was only for a very short period between 2013-2015.
Even after that he started to pick up some injuries and his general form was hit and miss before the leg break finishing him completely bar the mini renaissance he had under Lampard when fighting relegation.
Being around for ages certainly doesn’t make him a legend in my eyes. The last few years have been pretty poor with him offering nothing on the pitch and him seemingly using us for his real priority which is Ireland.
We should just be saying thank you and good luck. The social media side of it has been a bit embarrassing the last few days. You’d think he was Maradona at Napoli or something. The posting a picture of him being stretchered off was a particular highlight.

Your weirdness about this guy is just as weird as the attention the club is putting on him. Baines deserved just as much for his actual contribution on the pitch. Maybe he didn't want the attention but Seamus doesn't strike me as completely different in that way. So what the f*** is this all about? And, like yourself, I'm quite fine with being "out of step" with the general public, thx.
