Rooney (18 months left on a contract)

When asked if he was disappointed by Mourinho's comments, Moyes replied: "I wouldn't do it but everybody has their own style.

"I wouldn't talk about other managers or players at other clubs."

The ego of the man never ceases to amaze me...

I'f I was the Everton manager and Sir Alex had come asking for Baines and Fellaini, I would have found it very difficult to keep them. I always felt the right thing to do was what was right for the players.'

If Rooney is really interested in coming back to us, he can buy his contract out for £5 million in the summer and get in his car and come to Goodison and sign on the dotted line.

Far fetched I know. But if we were somehow to get 4th, does anyone think we could get Rooney? To buy out his contract for 14m, we could certainly afford that, but the very max wages wise we could afford would be 100k. But when you consider the extra money through champions league, sell outs every home game, increased live television games we could possibly afford the 5m wages per year. The question is would Rooney be prepared to take a wage cut to come back to us. The thought of Rooney and Barkley together in an everton side is mouth watering.

I honestly can’t see Martinez being interested in Rooney in the slightest. We’ve got Ross, and Kone will be fit next season.

Mourino is cranking up the pressure.

At seasons end , if Rooney hasn't signed a new contract, he can by paying about £12 million in compensation ,buy himself out of his contract and sign for whoever he wants.
Ok that probably wont happen but just imagine if he or his agent were to warn the club that he will do just that and go as far as serving notice of his intent. What will Man Utd do? They, Man Utd, would be painted into a corner as the player now holds all the cards and despite Man Utd saying they wont sell to a direct rival really wouldn't have a very strong negotiating hand.
Although it hasn't be confirmed directly the RVP transfer from Arsenal in the last year of his contract to a direct rival sort of smacks of the very same circumstances
Moyes was crowing at the start of the season

I think if Rooney became available for around 15m and showed an indication in wanting to come here, I really doubt Roberto would turn that down cos we had kone!!!!

Rooney is worth £50 million. If he is really interested in coming back he could use his money to buy out his contract and still have a small fortune. It will depend if money rules his head or his love for Everton. It's that simple really, money or play for your club.

Honestly, I don't want the sod and none of you lot should either. He chose the Mancs over us, we shouldn't be patiently waiting, hoping and begging for him to come back. I don't care if he still supports us and I don't care if he's brought his kids up to support us. He made his priorities very clear.

Nothing to do with the board though or a certain person in particular.

Nah..... lol
