Rooney (18 months left on a contract)

Rooney is the more complete/better player though and could make a lot more things happen on the pitch than Lukaku.
Its a very good, yet very tricky question. Ill be honest, i was going to ask something similar myself. I really dont know what answer to give.

Rooney has a choice to make this summer. The way things are going over at Old Trafford you would think he is not odds on now to sign a new contract.

he will most probably make one more big money move because Strettford will make sure of it.

Why? There's a very real chance that next season we could offer him Champions League football and United might not.

It's not all about money.

If it's not all about money, then why did he try to force himself out of Old Trafford twice, despite United playing in the CL?

Well i'm just hoping Rooney knows that this is his last chance to come here and we wont want him at the age of 31/32, he might be thinking, one more pay day then Everton

Wayne Rooney is on more money per week than our three highest earners combined...and then some. It wouldn't be breaking our wage structure more raping it until it's bedraggled corpse is swept away with the tide.

Why people think he'll drop £175k a week to join us is beyond me.

This x10.

Because he's been carrying the team and they won't invest in world class players. When they did (Van Persie) it was partly at Wayne's expense because he had to play deeper or drop out altogether.

Once a blue always a blue

I think your right in term of "what we need now" I think with Rooney's all round game being far more polished, we'd have a good few extra points this season. Also Rooney can score something out of nothing, which we haven't yet really seen from Lukaku.

I do think however, that Rooney would cost more than people are thinking about. Even with him in his last year of contract and if United didn't qualify for Europe, it'd still be high. A 30yr old Van Persie was sold for £24million with a year left on his contract

Don't forget Rooney could just buy himself out of his contract in the summer for 10-12M. Obviously he wouldn't be the one paying that money in the end, his new club would obviously make good that loss I'm sure!

He really does have the chance to make HUGE sacrifice to come back and make himself the hero he should of always been. Will he?? Who knows in this crazy world of football!

For all the banging on that he's on sooo much money at utd he'd never consider us. Well he clearly wasn't happy at utd last season whilst on all that money, fergie affect? Ok so now he's gone, yet wayne is clearly still not a happy bunny...I seriously don't think money is everything to Rooney, especially at this point in time.

Times have changed a lot at Everton, I mean seriously utd would be down the league even further without wayne. Where do you think we would stand currently had we had Rooney all season? I think we'd be topping the league now! Ultimately ending 2nd or 3rd.

Were on the cusp of something very special, maybe just maybe Rooney see's that. I honestly just don't see him anywhere else other than utd or Everton.

LCAB tweet few weeks back just makes me believe it's only a matter of time even more!
