Would love us to have a go at getting Rooney. What went on with him leaving was 10 years ago when he was a kid.

I would welcome him back. He is still a very good player, a blue and he has a lot to prove.

It could be explosive BUT it should be this January.

Rooney will be back it's just when!

If he pulls off the move by buying out his contract it would literally send shock waves through the football world!

Contract negotiations between Rooney and United are under way. Rooney’s current deal expires after next season, but he could soon sign an extension, which would keep him at Old Trafford for years to come. Rooney’s agent Paul Stretford and United CEO Ed Woodward met at United’s practice facility on both Wednesday and Thursday, according to the Mail. “The forward’s agent Paul Stretford was at United’s Carrington training base on Wednesday before returning on Thursday morning to hold further discussions, with Rooney’s Old Trafford future topping the agenda,” the report says. United will reportedly offer Rooney a four-year deal worth £50 million ($81.5 million). The Premier League club hopes such terms will convince Rooney to spurn the interest of Chelsea and Real Madrid and continue to pursue glory with United. The Mirror expects United to make a formal offer to Rooney after it completes Juan Mata‘s, £37 million ($60.8 million) transfer from Chelsea, which should happen before the weekend. “Wayne Rooney wants to stay at Manchester United — and the club are ready to open talks with him once they have tied up the signature of Juan Mata,” the report says. “United boss David Moyes has also told his money-men to start discussions with Rooney — to keep the England striker out of the Stamford Bridge club’s grasp in the summer. “Champions United plan to sit down and thrash out a new deal with their best player as soon as possible.” While United has famously struggled this season, Rooney’s performances have improved over last season’s. The 28-year-old has scored nine goals in 17 league games, and he has had a clearly positive effect on United’s results in 2013-14. By adding Mata and securing Rooney’s future, United may have boosted its chances of finishing in the top four and salvaging a difficult season.

I'd honeslty be surprised if he signed an extension there. Not because i think he would want to come back to Everton, but because i cant see them really being any kind of a force whilst Moyes is there.

and i find it a bit funny how Mourinho is talking about how United wont sell Rooney to them because 'they dont want to sell to a direct rival', but he goes ahead and sells Mata to United.

Even if this is true and he signs a new contract, I don't think he was ever gonna come back here anyway.

I had a dream that he came back and his first game he played was at Liverpool away and it was 2-2 and in the 89th Barkley passed it to him and he smashed it top corner and all our fans were on the pitch and everything..
