Rooney (18 months left on a contract)

Rather have Barkley - Rooney was the best player I'd seen when he was 16/17...but he's reached his level now and won't get any better...whereas Barkley will be, in my opinion, an even better player, he has it all and is playing in a better side. Get that new contract signed for Barkley...forget Rooney

Really can't see him coming back. I certainly can't see him staying at Utd, the move for Mata suggests to me Moyes is going for 4-4-1-1 with Mata in the hole, a position Rooney would normally occupy

they're just stocking up on bodies in hopes of a deep Euro run next year, should they qualify.

The mata deal is down to FFP form Chelsea's point of view they will of brought in around 50M with sales which they had to do!

Funny paper stories, Everyone believes which ones they want to believe them.

Under normal circumstances Rooney would never be an option for us. If he wants it, whoever utd sign, however much money they offer, whoever is manager, whatever comps they qualify or not won't matter. If it's not something he wants normal service will resume and he'll sign another contract at utd.

I do believe if nothing happens this summer or at latest next...Rooney will probably never play for Everton again. And personally don't think he should....it's a now or never kind of deal from our point of view!!

Agree. Don't want him here after 30. So its now or never.

It'll just be Walter Smith like signing.

He'd just be here taking the proverbial

Hahahaha FFP, yeah as if Chelsea take that seriously.

If that's the case, you best get on the phone to PSG and Monaco and warn them.

Course they do, they are in danger of being well short of it. Plus they still want to sign players. They can't stock players like they used to.

Hahahahahaha you really think Chelsea are worried about FFP, oh my.

A clever bit of financial engineering will sort them, how are UEFA going to police it and audit every ones books. Watch, none of the big boys will get done by it. As for Chelsea not stocking players, how many have they got on loan again??

Monaco and PSG, they will be the worst clubs and watch nothing happen to them, if they get charged I will eat my hat.

Loaning players also counts in their favour money wise.

They loan 24 players out and their total wage weekly cound well be enough for a top signing in their eyes, so not breaking their fair play rules because they would be paying that otherewise. Then just sell one or two players (Mata/De Brune) and all of a sudden your net spend, inlcuding matic goes right down. I mean Matic in and still 30 million up, which pays for willian, van ginkel and whoever else they bought in the summer.

Balanced bookd as it were.

They payed 30 million for Willian. Mata's wages were low compared to other players in Chelsea, they are not scared one iota by FFP from either the Premier league and UEFA.

The big clubs pushed for it, but think about it. Recently they have seen the likes of Man City, PSG come on the scene and splash the cash like its a Gatsby party. The boys sitting on the top table want to stay on the top table, its not about being fair, its about them staying at the top.
