Rooney (18 months left on a contract)

It's not just about what he'd cost in wages, we need to think how much money and sponsorship he'd bring to Goodison. Brand Rooney is a strong marketing tool and the media would love the fairytale return of the prodigal son.

Wouldn't mind him back on loan though. Unlikely to happen sadly.

Sorry to bring this one back up. Just casually reading THT's tweets (I know he was considered a ITK by a lot on here) and he has said that Kenwright made an enquiry to Man U in the summer when Rooney wanted out. He's also tweeted many times before that Rooney wants a return.

Could this actually be on the cards in the summer, he wont cost much with 1yr left.

He's the fifth best paid footballer in the world, mate and the highest in this league.

And I think the papers were saying man u have a new contract ready for him to sign.

He could turn it down, but to do so and come here would cost him 200k a week maybe. That's a lot to give up even to play for everton.

would you do it?

I know i would, being a massive blue like. Not a question just for you really, for anyone out there?

No amount of money would make me not want to pull on the royal blue shirt, especially if i've already been earning 2 million a month beforehand.

just bits of paper you never see anyway, you only live once like.

But what can United or any other team offer the man whom has everything he could possibly need?

Only dear old Everton can provide him with the one thing money can't buy.....living out his dream, the same one each and every one of us on here have.

I have always said Wayne will return one day.

Why now in 18 months time when hopefully El Bob's revoloution will have us in the CL.

The funny thing is though, he supposedly told a lot of people around him that he wants to come back. Now considering he knows we haven't got much money, he will be aware that he wont be earning anything over £100k if he did return yet he apparently still wants too - I know he isn't the sharpest tool in the box but he's not that stupid.

He'll have to explain to his wife, his agent etc why he's giving up 10 million a year like.

Forget about the agent.

The key thing is Colleen.

Like the rest of us, the wife is the boss.

She is still a massive Blue and little Kai is rarely without his Everton shirt on.

Wayne and Colleen have enough money to live in luxury for twenty lifetimes.

I think he will be back.

Easy to say when you're not being asked to give up millions of pounds a year.

Its not like he's donating £10mill out of his own bank account and i'm sure a large signing on fee and around £80k a week (£4mill a year) wont be setting alarm bell off.
