Moyesinez. That first season under Martinez was heavily indebted to the Moyes defensive drilling and mindset of the existing players. The addition of new faces and a bit of positivity led to a glorious season.

Once Martinez got fully in control it all went South.

What's moyesinez doing? We need a manager.

Bob. Because he got us further in Europa, brought Barry, Lukaku, McCarthy, Holgate, Robles and Deulofeu in, and got us into two semi finals. And THAT first season.

And I fancy him.

Martinez by an absolute mile.

Challenged for the champions league places, two cup semi finals, some good (and bad) European results and in the first season at least, some of the best football I've ever seen played at Goodison.

Martinez made me believe before it all went to pot - Koeman has left me just not caring anymore which is by far the biggest crime.

things turned badly sour for them both in the end, but bobbys first season was the best season ive ever had being an evertonian, thought we could go out and beat everyone ( except Liverpool like )

i havent justified any ineptitude. why do you take everything about Martinez so seriously. its quite funny :) I'm not a fan of his as he won us nothing and slowly turned us into a mess. I'm a fan of Joe Royle as he made us boss for a short while and won us a trophy. Not really a fan of any manager since. We need better, much better.

both failed but Martinez with his first season, the European run (until the Kiev disaster) and some games against the bigger teams left more memories than normal boring Ronald.

The thread was opened yesterday purely because I realised yesterday that Koeman actually would probably be remembered as being the bigger failure and I found it amusing and got in a discussion with @ianefc about it.

I am surprised by the poll results so far to be honest, but thinking more on it I would be certain that Martinez would win the same poll in 5 years time.

We hired an utterly predictable manager in Koeman so its no surprise when he will be forgotten for not really doing much and getting booted out after a season and a bit.

True. Royle actually won us a trophy and Moyes had steadied the ship. For me both of the above had done a lot more than Koeman and Martinez. I suppose that 2 full seasons were too long user RM while I must admit if Koeman has not been sacked and we got 17th this season maybe he is in bar with my hate level to RM.

Both flattered to deceive. I think Koeman is worse because not only has he taken us backwards the football was awful as well.

Most people liked Martinez the person, not the manager.

I think now everyone dislikes both sides of Koeman.

Only one of them "got" Everton Football Club, and that one was the manager who got us 5th, a decent Europe run and a few good cup runs.

Martinez > Koeman.
Got us that much that he took us to court (or threatened it) for £10m of our money that his failings didn't merit.
