David Moyes did significantly more for Everton than Martinez did. He took over a shambolic laughing stock of a club and had us competing for European spots every single season. Martinez literally reversed that process.

Mate, I think the whole point is about the now not the past.

I won't deny for a millisecond that Moyes was the right man at the right time when he became Everton manager, and for the lions share of his time as Everton manager, he did have us competitive and punching above our weight, and we were all largely grateful for that. But it was far, far from perfect.

Would you honestly say that you would have him back now ?
Failed at Manu and sacked, failed at Sociedad and sacked, failed at Slumberland and walked before they could sack him.

Brown Shoe plc stock is healthy if not high, Koemoyes plc have seen their stock crater.
That's the point exactly.
Martinez has stabilised his downward slide and is seemingly, turning things around.
Moyes went downhill after leaving Everton and Koeman's managerial career is it tatters right now.

Koeman got here with a big ego. Martinez left with one.

I think this came from his first deadline day transfers – Lukaku, McCarthy and Barry. He got very lucky with two of those, as he wasn’t actually in for Lukaku, and no one could have foreseen the form that Barry would show in the next couple of seasons.

I believe that altered his transfer strategy. He seemed to think he could pick up players that couldn’t get a game for other sides, and turn them into world beaters. We can see this in some of the signings – Cleverley, Lennon, McGeady, Atsu, Deulofeu (second stint). He started to believe he had the Midas touch. It soon became evident that these players were not good enough. He wouldn’t accept it, because he was Roberto Martinez – King of Football. I know he didn't have the funds Koeman had, but McGeady? Really?

His ego was also apparent in his game management. If we were winning, he never thought of closing a game down. He was convinced he again, was the King of Football, and that he had really cracked it.

It was why he could never accept that it was down to him. It was always something else that caused the loss.

No, absolutely not, I'd give my season ticket up if he came back, if the discussion is about who I would want out of the 3 as Everton manager right now, the answer is a resounding "none of them".

Martinez inherited a much better setup than Koeman...

How so?

The squad did not have a striker of note to speak of and we had a load of players who had been staples of the first team coming to the end of their careers.

Koeman inherited players worth millions in Lukaku, Stones, Barkley (I know Barkley was there when Martinez arrived but he was nowhere near the same level).

I will wait and see when El Bob leaves Belgium one-day. He is overhyped and it is beyond a ridiculous level. Personally, if a person got an international job I really do not see that has anything to do with his ability at club levels in particular I was talking about Everton former managers. Southgate...Big Sam managing England. Lippi managing China...you can read the long list of unknown past Belgium managers. Upward trend of Martinez’s career for now? Of course because he was sacked by Everton after 2 poor seasons. It is like winning a lottery for getting the Belgian job after showing you are pretty average as a coach. Don’t forget Martinez is 10 years younger than Koeman and Moyes. We can come back in a few years time and see where would he go.

Ponders banning @hktoffee for a few years.
Probably wouldn't get away with it, so moves finger away from ban button ;)

I still remember last season how a lot of folks here said "Koeman is better than Roberto". And now it's the opposite. lol

It settles debates pretty quickly I always find.

Have you ever been in a heated discussion irl and wished you had a pie chart at hand to show your opponent how wrong he is in a clear visual format? I'm thinking of an app that does just that. With a simple click, all the complex information you tried to communicate to your befuddled friend will be aggregated into clear, understandable slices. It will be called PIE-RGHT because the last vowel has to be removed for some reason, you can PM me for great investment opportunities.
