Roberto Martinez discussion

Martinez is running the whole organisation now. He's not just the manager, he's the public face of the football club on and off the pitch. Who else is there, now that Kenwright is in absentia? He is Everton.

Oh dear. That's as Matt Damon a post as a post can be without it actually being Matt Damon.

The cult of the Moyesiah returns with a new deity and new blind zealots...

But davek who routinely bemoans our absentee landlord gangsters thinks this is an ok situation to be in....

This sounds a lot like the Lukaku bashers from last season when apparently goals in the Europa league don't count or neither did penalties, very odd way to look at it if you ask me.

look at it this way then, there are in those 27 goals, No, count them, none, euro goals not to count and your point is??

Of those 27 nearly half were scored in the last 3 games Vs the bottom 3 teams...flattering to deceive.

The current squad properly guided and led are better than this.

not because of Martinez but in spite of him.

but as I keep saying and davek even agrees with me...He's not going anywhere

You're the other end of the spectrum though - criticising non-stop.

I really don't see why there isn't a middle ground. You can generally like Martinez, but see his flaws and judge him on balance.

I hate it when you talk sense.

Martinez's strengths and weaknesses are fairly obvious. At the moment, I'd class him as a good manager. If he works on his weaknesses he could be an excellent manager. I'm hoping we see that while he's at Everton because, if we do, there's a fair chance it'll bring some measurable success to the club.

Based on what?

Thats what really irks me about both sides. I like Martinez. When he has his team attacking the right way (ie: not tapping about for 5 minutes before going back to Howard for him to hoof it to nobody then lose possession), we are a joy to watch. He's also absolutely tosh at setting the defense right.

People calling for him to be sacked are, right now, wrong. This isnt last season where it looked like there was almost no way out. But the blind loyalty he has from others is just so frustrating. Middle ground, people, middle ground. If you cant be objective, whats the point?

And I genuinely LOL at AVB. Does not work in the PL.

winnable games eh...

Q) Would Bournemouth have been one of those 'winnable games' ?

A) On Friday or even at HT Sat yes it might have been...but you have to actually win them

apropos nothing; now and again I see this 27goals scored popping up in the apologistas corner.

Well lets look a little closer

Just under half of those goals have been scored in the last 3 games Vs the bottom 3 Clubs, with the added advantage(?) of 2 home games

14 games in we have;
F27 A19 for 21 Pts

last 3 games
F13 A5 for 7Pts

So in the previous 11 games we scored F14 A14...for 14Pts

rippin it up here boss.

yes; I know he's not going anywhere soon.

No; I don't have to like it much

btw, yes; I hope we smash the Boro

I fear most of the recent criticism is we blew a comfortable lead at the weekend and yes we should have taken the points back home.
That said though, we have picked up points I wasn't expecting like 3 points at St Marys, a credible draw at Spurs, 3 precious points against Chelsea and a draw against the Redshite.
We will drop points we don't expect but I honestly believe the team are progressing and with its youthful look, it's actually exciting!

Such optimism from such a pessimistic name
