Roberto Martinez discussion

The two biggest dangers to Everton in the medium termed future is the ownership of the club and the slow geordieisation of our fanbase.
This must be stopped at all costs.

I refer to Davek for his positivity (wow):

7th
Unbeaten in 5
3 losses in 14 games
Scoring 14 in the last 4 games
A win away from the SFs of a cup

Once the anger of yesterday has died down, we should concentrate on winning Tuesday.

I don't think there was anger over our draw...rather slight disappointment. Bournemouth can score 3 goals in 15 minutes against any opposition. Everton was just unlucky that today was the day they evidenced it. I still hold high hope we can finish 7-11th....nothing today has disabused me of that notion

I'm still massively annoyed about it, its points just thrown away. I just hope it doesn't affect the players confidence going into the Middlesbrough game.

Funny thing is i reckon we all hated the way the way we passed the ball around the backline a lot last season but doing that in the last 10-15 minutes possibly keeps us in the lead, instead we continued to just give the ball away.

Hindsight though i guess, and at least it was Bournemouth and not a team i despise like newcastle.

2-0 is an awkward scoreline. Always has been, always will be. Especially early in the game. Another goal and it's over, but the urgency to go all out for it isn't there. Only the title focussed teams in their pomp can do it. They're that single minded and deadly. Getting pulled back to 2-1 was the key moment. So late on in the game and knowing we were vulnerable to an equaliser.

That said, I also believe we got ahead of ourselves and were mentally preparing for Tuesday a bit early.

It cant be underlined enough though:

7th
Unbeaten in 5
3 losses in 14 games
Scoring 14 in the last 4 games
A win away from the SFs of a cup

...bigger picture and all that.

or glibly skating past the points that don't confirm to the davek party line

like only one away win to a poor WBA
like only beating poor teams
like too many draws
like
like
like...well like yesterday, snatching a draw from the jaws of victory TWICE...albeit with a little help from our friends

no like.

you may have missed my question yesterday.

Is our squad better than it was 4 years ago...if not who bought them

if it is who or what is holding them back, why aren't we doing better...because we should be

When you play a predominately counterattacking game (which we seem to have adopted) you always run the risk of the side you cede possession to actually doing something with it. That's what happened here because we slacked off massively after being 2-0 up. It was just Everton all over.

Lukaku Stones and Deulofeu are. Every other position is worse off. Barkley would be in this list if he was played in the right position.

I cannot understand people dissecting the time element of yesterday's game and blaming the minutes for us dropping points.

Surely the issue here is we played poorly and surrendered the lead against very poor opposition on a number of occasions.

Garbage performance and garbage management to throw points away.

Galloway is a young kid with potential but as soon as he gets in a dangerous crossing position he's clueless and slows everything down.

The leagues too competitive for us to let slip a 2 goal lead against a bottom 3 side with 10 minutes to go and expect us to achieve anything notable mate. What winds me up is that it's same old everton. That 2nd half performance was moyes era stuff at its very worst, and to see the lack of intent to put the game to bed from the same players who talk themselves up to move to CL clubs is frustrating.
They're inexperienced at the back. That's all that was required yesterday - level heads to see that game out.

It's all good.

You're determined to make a case that we're doing badly on the basis of a game where we were away at a PL club and came away with a point from.

No one beyond a handful of irrational manager haters buys the idea you're peddling. The vat majority see what I see: a young and exciting team being put together by a manager who has ambitions and knows what he's doing.

We're doing well so far this season but I understand people being angry at what happened yesterday. It was pretty dire.
I'm angry at players who cant protect a two goal lead and who couldn't see a game out when it was won for another couple of minutes.

All that said, they've been very good in the last few weeks and when all is said and done we came away with another point, not empty handed.

We've only played WBA away once!!! How many times are we meant to have beaten them???

How come it's the players fault when things go wrong but when things go right it's down to Martinez?

It's like no other top halve teams slip up against bottom 4 sides EVER

City drew with Villa two weeks ago ffs and they are on another planet player wise

Arse seeing on here is embarrassing
