Roberto Martinez discussion

Of course people are going to be annoyed at dropping two points from what looked like a very comfortable position, yes Bobby should have made changes but we still picked up a point, every team is faltering this season, but we have had a decent start not great but decent, and I am happy with the way the season and the team are shaping up

baines coming back could be the boost and experience we need right now, hope he starts against boro

Or gets at least 45 minutes

Watched the match again (ugh) and the main problem is that we leave not one but both flanks exposed. Lennon's sub on i suppose was to add solidity to the right flank but Coleman consistently went walkabout meaning that Lennon was caught in two minds. I suppose he didn't get a replacement on for Kone because of McCarthy's injury and wanted another option in injury time (which didn't work out but not Gibson's fault). I can understand Galloway being exposed, he's a 19 year old out of position with no back up but Coleman consistently going walkabout is fast becoming a problem. He isn't a youth anymore, he's a well established international right back who's got a touch of Ivanovic-itis. If he had not consistently been out of position we'd have been able to funnel all the attack down the left flank and deal with it more consistently.

As people say, teams have these results but after last season and feeling as though we turned a corner, fans have the right to be angry. At least all the players have come out and vowed to bounce back

You're determined to make a case that we're doing badly on the basis of a game where we were away at a PL club and came away with a point from.

No one beyond a handful of irrational manager haters buys the idea you're peddling. The vat majority see what I see: a young and exciting team being put together by a manager who has ambitions and knows what he's doing.

you won't change and neither will I

we won't get more than 61Pts
we might get the 7th-ish trophy
we may even win the mickey mouse cup...or even the FA cup

We had a manager that organised a team, but wouldn't let them play
We have a manager that has a team that can play, but can't organise them.

There's no need for twenty pages to be spawned for an away draw in the manager thread.

It is like many of you have invested in wanting him out so any opportunity gives you a the chance to magnify adversity.

He's building a very talented young team. Will it be enough? Who knows, the competition is as fierce as it's ever been with the money in he game. What's the alternative though? Are we getting game changing money to spend more than our competitors?

So the only option is to build a young hungry team that can grow. Such teams are inconsistent and prone to poor results here and there. Yesterday was one of them.

If you can't see the potential in this Everton team and a manager trying his best to realise it then I think you're being unkind and unrealistic. You're also playing into the stereotype of the entitled modern day fan who critiques their club's manager based on video game prowess or unnecessary ego.

Not Everton, that. Most neutrals looking on in this thread would be amazed by some of your reactions. You didn't want him in the first place, it's ok we get it.

Who's made that distinction? I've been fulsome in praise for both.

You might be fulsome in praise for both. However you never question/accept that Martinez is at fault for 'certain' things.

My worry is he's too nicey nice in the dressing room. At two nill up, away from home, knowing we have a bottle job in us, you get in their faces you make sure the level of play on the field doesn't drop. You get your experienced players in Barry & Howard to set the example and make sure the younger talenT know whats expected. Both were anoyomus.

If we had Jags playing I'm confident we would have seen that game out at 2-1.

We must do a job on Middlesbrough, I think moral will be at an all time low, be interesting to see how our youngster and more so Martinez react.

Poor result overall and no hiding place

But again we see the RM haters out in force.

My point stands, these people never wanted him, so will never buy into what he is trying to achieve.
Sadly there is a part of these people who want Everton to fail, so they can sit comfortably and say I told you so.

Have we had the Catalan Clown quotes yet, I am sure there will be similar

Would you mate? would you get right into them lad? show them who's boss and that, start smashing the gaff up? get naked and start tapping z cars out on that table with your penis? threaten to knock pyar lads out on the terraces? bounce into the directors box and set off some fireworks from your anus? March into the refs office and demand he fights you to the death in a naked fist fight?

IS THAT WHAT YOU WOULD DO LLLLLAAAADDDDD?
