Roberto Martinez discussion

You might be fulsome in praise for both. However you never question/accept that Martinez is at fault for 'certain' things.

My worry is he's too nicey nice in the dressing room. At two nill up, away from home, knowing we have a bottle job in us, you get in their faces you make sure the level of play on the field doesn't drop. You get your experienced players in Barry & Howard to set the example and make sure the younger talenT know whats expected. Both were anoyomus.

If we had Jags playing I'm confident we would have seen that game out at 2-1.

We must do a job on Middlesbrough, I think moral will be at an all time low, be interesting to see how our youngster and more so Martinez react.
He probably is but he just got it wrong second half, over confident in us seeing the result out and probably thought we would go and score again anyway to kill the game off.

like mclaren yesterday, switched at half time to counter palace except he didn't have the sense to realise palace wouldn't be caught out as they were 3-1 up at the time

I had a moment
There's been plenty of confirmation that his affable nature is for the media and that he's very much capable of losing it in the dressing room.

We were mourning Kendall not so long ago as our greatest manager who's style was more in keeping with Martinez, certainly a lot more so than Catterick.

It's cheap shots continually at Martinez as a manger when I'm enjoying his team more than most of the teams our previous manager was afforded 11 years for. I rated him too so that's saying something.

Martinez has massively proved me wrong this season ill hold my hands up to.

He is still no where near the finished article but for the first time since Royle we are playing like a team that can just outclass our opponents

I think this level of wonderment is premature. Sides in mid-table are going to outclass the teams at the bottom, and they themselves will be outclassed by the teams at the top. Our performances so far this season are indicating a mid-table finish, which is what is expected of us. The teams at the bottom are being outclassed by everyone.

I actually look forward to watching everton again

That's a big bonus

Reality is we are massive outsiders for top 4 but keeping within touching distance, we have a massive game this week to reach a semi final and at present our football is sex

I'd take that

A fair point. Results like yesterday should temper expectation and remind us that the exciting young team has some distance to go.

Hope we get the chance for the team to realise their potential though.
