Why are you so Advers to the fact that they have the ability to spend more money than Us?

Because them spending more money than us does not mean that we shouldn't be able to perform to our potential. Seems now though that you can't expect Everton to even keep up with Spurs let alone the real top sides. What's the point in even turning up every season?

Spurs have been in the Champions League more recently than us and have been in Europa as consistently, if not more so in recent years. It's to say we should be chasing them. We need a number 10 don't we though mate?

It's a very competitive league this season.

I like the fact we are open and attacking. We have lost 3 games to City, Arsenal and United, the latter on a day the club were all in mourning, excuse I know but it must have had some effect.

Anybody jumping on the managers back today after a 3-3 draw away is just moaning for the sake of it IMO. Freak result in a game we should have won comfortably.

We said let's see how he does this season, he's not doing a bad job at all. The defence is young and will improve, the attacking play is rather good.

All the sky pundits today believe anything below the top 6 is failure and I agree with this squad. Let's see how he does now for the season and judge him then.

Might be OTT but today for me shown we won't get anything more than 7th at best this season (no europe).

Tuesday and Mondays games are absolutely massive, a loss at boro and our best chance of silverware in recent seasons will be gone and a draw/loss at palace would have us around 4-7 points behind those in and around the top 6.

Time for the manager and players to all play a blinder. Think mccarthy will be a big miss if he's out for them.

It is OTT. Unbeaten in five and playing some great football.

Yeah, this team has things to learn but it's still such a young exciting team. It's a delight to watch us attack, it really is.
Spend a fair bit of time lurking on the redcafe site. A common refrain is how incredibly boring their matches are

Some are mollified by their league position but not many - a lot seem to believe it is a false position and they haven't a hope of actually winning anything with LVG's mentality.

Whereas when you look at Arsenal boards they generally like the football but complain about the lack of consistency and ability to win some of the games, such as WBA, that they should.

Everyone wants the combination of exciting and successful football but it can be incredibly difficult to regularly achieve even for the most experienced coaches with seasoned players and the richest budgets - for example Mourinho for all his brilliance isn't managing either this season and Chelsea were dire to watch the last six months of last season.

Successful as they are, don't think I'd enjoy supporting either LVG or Mourinho teams, watching us attack like we did vs Villa is just so much fun.

The leagues too competitive for us to let slip a 2 goal lead against a bottom 3 side with 10 minutes to go and expect us to achieve anything notable mate. What winds me up is that it's same old everton. That 2nd half performance was moyes era stuff at its very worst, and to see the lack of intent to put the game to bed from the same players who talk themselves up to move to CL clubs is frustrating.

I've said all season, we're doing ok. Fact is, some would have us believe we're doing brilliantly when in reality we will have played at least 16 games of a 38 season before we win back to back games, and we have failed to beat two of last seasons promoted teams - the excuse of the worlds most difficult fixture list has well gone.

No reason to panic but no reason to rejoice either. We look pretty average overall, slightly better than last year, but average nonetheless.

they're a young team, they're going to make mistakes and you can put the manager in that category as well.

we drew way too many under moyes because we couldn't score enough. we draw too many under martinez because we can't defend. i like galloway, he'll be a terrific centre back for us, but i'm looking forward to baines being back. teams are targeting him, however most of the threat today came from coleman's position and his man scored 2.

We're a tall commanding keeper away from a really great team, not that howard was to blame for anything today, but a great keeper breeds great confidence in the defence in my opinion.

We really have some very strange people that 'support' this club.

Phenomenal melting.
I'm not sure strange is the word' I'd simply use passionate. Everton are different from other clubs, in it's very rare that I've known an Everton fans who doesn't live, breathe and sleep Everton. At school nearly all the Everton fans went to the match, at least when they could afford it. Most Liverpool fans you meet on the street have never been to a game, they just buy the merchandise. Supporting Everton is a bit like joining the mafia or a cult, you're in for life. As I've said on here before just go the pub to watch an Everton match and then a Liverpool match and notice the difference. You nearly always end up have a great laugh, with random strangers, the only thing you share in common is a love for Everton. We're just very passionate fans.
