RM comparison with Mourinho from last night

He can do one, Moyes wouldn't have let us get so badly hammered. Martinez was a fool last night, his tactics did not work, and he stuck with them and landed us with the worse defeats by them in 32 years.

The other negative for the night was now the rest of the league know how to stuff us, I'm fully expecting 2/3 more of these hammerings this season.

Forza Bobby? Nah you're OK.

Hahahaha. How utterly, utterly pathetic.

Talk about a knee-jerk reaction.

I didn't see many people complain about Martinez's selection before the match. It's all good looking at in hindsight but the team he put out is pretty much what everyone on here wanted pre-match.

Martinez is like a sponge. He'll take all this in, compute it and use it to best effect for our benefit in the future.

With that ginger tool you could have no faith whatsoever he'd be able to do that. He'd just continue to put his hand in the fire after getting it burned once.

Thank you for your work Roberto. A fantastic achievement with the resources allowed.

Moyes wouldn't have bent over like that for them. He would have sat back after we went one down. Kept a bit of dignity.

I'm no Moyes fan either, hated him for years.

You're having a laugh. Despite last night being such a terrible defeat, I would never have had Moyes' approach in a Derby back for all the world. Letting them stroll all over us at Goodison over Christmas in 2005. Actually giving up and prioritising the Sunderland game when we lost 3-0 there in 2012. Never looking like beating them at Wembley for even a second, despite them gifting us a lead. Trying to get to half time at 0-0 when Gerrard was sent off in 2006, despite the fact we'd been battering them up to that point. Coming from behind to lead 2-1 in 2011 only to then decide thats enough so sit back now. Coming from 2-0 down last season and having them on the ropes...then sitting back and settling for the point for the rest of the game, and only not losing 3-2 in the last minute thanks to a dodgy linesman.

Fact is, we have beaten Liverpool once in 15 meetings. Martinez was only in charge for 2 of those, and we should have beaten them in one of them. Moyes spent most of his Everton career bending over for the Red ****e. And United. And Arsenal. And even the likes of ****ing West Brom. Ive already had a Manc gloat at me this morning saying we wouldnt have got beat like this with Moyes' negative attitude...despite the fact they were smashed 4-1 in their away Derby this season. Moron.

The forwards were the difference. In any other fixture, we could have just written this off as one of those days, like the Sunderland game. Every mistake we made was punished, our striker got injured while marking the goalscorer of their first, and the replacement was bloody Naismith. That was the biggest difference last night. Suarez and Sturridge have scored 35 League goals between them this season. We lost our striker and replaced him with a fella who's scored 5 in 2 years and is painfully out of his depth. The middle third of the pitch, it was an even game. Defensive and attacking thirds, we were hopeless. But while it was just one of those days, it just had to be against them, so all that is irrelevant. It happened against them so its a humiliation.

The issue with that is that we don't know how fit the players are, in terms of coming back from injury and how much football they have played. We just know what they are usually like when fit. Maybe Martinez over-estimated their fitness/match sharpness.

To me that proves that Martinez has done well. Majority of us expected us to be around the 8th or 9th mark in his first season due to transition

Yeah, I said as much. Changing the style without it effecting results is a fine achievment, especially since the board have been their usual selves.

It's just the idea that we're upset about anfield cos of raised expectations I'm disputing. We were 6th before that game. I've been 6th before. My expectations were not raised because we were experiencing those dizzy heights. That's not why losing 4-0 disapoints me.

our first derby performance under martinez was better than any one of moyes'. the result was not a true reflection of the performance where we relistically could have scored 7/8.

of course we won 3-0 under moyes once, but i don't think the performance was any better than our game this season. sadly it's a results absed business, but i have no doubt we'll get more wins in these games if martinez is here for 11 years than we did with moyes.

Gotchya. I suppose the Martinez optimism has our expectations raised as he has the players and fans believing whereas under Moyes we had the feeling of overachievement drilled into us from his early years and the belief was we were doing better than we should be. If that makes sense.

You can guarantee that, I think. The first step to winning is believing you can do it. I just wonder now how we won two or three of these games under Moyes he was such a coward.
