RM comparison with Mourinho from last night

Difference there last night: I think Moyes would have set up with players like Naismith and Osman and Hibbert given the touch and go nature of our injured. Martinez recognized the importance of the occasion and said 'nah, let's get the lads out there, go toe to toe, and give this our best shot...we get beat by one we may as well get beat by more'. Now people will sl@g him off today because of the scoreline, and it is painful today...but that attitude he has will get us more points than the Moyes 'hide behind the couch', ''play it safe' nonsense in the long run.

Spot on.

We lambasted Moyes for his play it safe attitude, now we've got a manager who isn't afraid to have a go. With that attitude we might lose the odd game via a heavy scoreline, but it's a damn sight better than going 1-0 up and holding on to it, or even worse, trying to hold on to 0-0 at the 'big' grounds. Up until last night we had the best defence in the league, which is something I did not expect at all from Martinez.

Moyes wouldn't have bent over like that for them. He would have sat back after we went one down. Kept a bit of dignity.

I'm no Moyes fan either, hated him for years.

You're talking out your rear hole lad Moyes was a gobshte in the derby games even when they were spunking money on donkeys with some of the worst teams in their history he couldn't shake the fear.

As it stands Liverpool now have their best team since adam was a lad yet when we had all guns we beat the tar out of 'em at Goodison - last night half the team was out or not match fit and they were at full strength.

Don't try the "I'm no Moyes fan either" bullsht you're clearly one of his cult members - tool.

So we're halfway through the season and been beaten 3 times.

Yeah we got beat last night and yeah it was against that shower, but it happens. A freak result! Their strikeforce is phenomenal. C'mon 36 goals between them and Rat Face has been out for 6 games.

It happens, move on from it and keep going for the rest of the season.

Nah, I know it's tempting to big them up after last night to save face but this isn't a classic liverpool team by any means.

Nah, they've got probably one of the top 5 forwards in the world ably supported by another top striker up front with decent creativity and hard work behind.

Only their concentration is up for question ie being up for it against Hull and Villa as they are against us.

The top 4 will be City, Chels, L'pool and Arsenal probably in that order.

He can do one, Moyes wouldn't have let us get so badly hammered. Martinez was a fool last night, his tactics did not work, and he stuck with them and landed us with the worse defeats by them in 32 years.

The other negative for the night was now the rest of the league know how to stuff us, I'm fully expecting 2/3 more of these hammerings this season.

Forza Bobby? Nah you're OK.

WHAT?

I don't see it.

I don't think this Liverpool team is anywhere near as good as the teams that challenged for the title and won cups under evans, houllier and benitez let alone the all conquerers from the 80s.

They might come 4th though I think it's more likely they'll drop to 5th or 6th but they're not a force.

We were just missing far too many first teamers to compete and they were up for it, made them look far better than they are.

United are going to push that contest all the way I reckon. We would have came close too if we'd bothered to go out and show some ambition this January. Sadly, I think our business during the window means we'll come up short like last year.

Correct, they benefitted from Ferguson leaving his job to get their noses into the CL space trough. Wait until United start turning the screw on Rodgers...those dropped points against the likes of Hull and Villa are going to be a more regular occurrence.

Rodgers fails to get CL this season and he's toast next season, and this team will be broken up with Suarez getting off.

We're at cross purposes mate my "since adam was a lad" is too vague I'm referring to their teams since last winning the title - clearly their golden period prior is a different ball game (literally).

I can't see them falling away if anything they'll have the wind in their sails after last night.

Pains me to say it but they are one of the best 4 teams of this year imo.

Yeah, maybe.

But they've finished in the top four 13 times since they last won the title and won some cups along the way. We're used to them being quite good.

This team isn't in the league of the torres-gerrard team who challenged man u for the title and thrashed real or the owen-gerrard team who won the triple.

They're beatable, they really really are. It just wasn't our day for various fitness and injury reasons.

We don't want to build them up into something they're not just cos of one thumping. This is a team that can be got at and can be finished above.

Funny because I went into work today and my red ****e mate was waiting for me and as I said to him it was one of the worst defensive displays I've seen from us but at least we tried to win (failed badly) the game instead of playing for a draw.

Didn't see anyone moaning when we went to old trafford or the emirates.
