Right now this club is a shambles

In the space of a couple of months, we have gone from real optimism to a state of complete inertia.

It is obvious that Koeman has no idea how to rectify things on the pitch, and the owners are obviously crapping themselves at the prospect of another multi-million pound payoff.

Interesting angle. I only know about Lee's time here from reading about it, and the few times we were on MOTD/Big Match or at Ashton Gate playing Bristol City. (Not 100% sure if Lee was actually the manager then anyrate and CBA looking it up!) Bristol Evening Post didnt cover Everton that much.

But different times.
I know a lad who's a Leeds fan is going to Ashton gate tomorrow

There's a collective amnesia over Barkley. He's been one of our best two players in the last three seasons at the club. I dont care about the international scene: all that proves is that Southgate is a nobhead.

Barkley scores, he provides assists, he adds dynamism to our transition from defence to attack.
How can people not see he is head and shoulders above the rest of this Koeman team?
Honestly , after 4 years of watching him my personal opinion is that he's good ,but not good enough to be one of those players who you can build a team round . His brilliance is too inconsistent , ephemeral. A showboat goal against mighty Bournmouth and a nasty little stamp against the RS about sums him up. He's also a bit of coward on the pitch when we don't have possession.
All in all ,good but not good enough by a long shot for me .
All academic anyway , you don't embarrass your boss the way he did and expect to crawl back when it suits you. I doubt there will be any contract offer on the table after Koeman goes.

Yes but Siggurdson was a snap at £45 million and worth every penny, don't forget that! Hopefully Koeman goes and Ross stays :D

You could consider the common link is not having spending power when having so would have made a massive difference, it doesn't so much now. The frustration for me is apart from the EPL, there has been the League Cup & FA Cup up for grabs and we've been so poor. We have to admit we have a massive inferiority complex when we come to play the so called big teams, especially Liverpool. If you don't pick up points against any of those sides you'll rarely finish above 6th place.

If you don't pick up any points against the top 6; that leaves 13 other squads to play home and away. Win all of those matches we are suppose to win, and that gives you 78 points by season's end. Baring the 13/14 season in which we finished 5th with 72; 78 points would return a top 4 finish in every season since 06/07.

One of the few things that I cant pin on Koeman is Ross wanting out. He was offered a terrific deal, so we are led to believe anyrate, but decided he wanted out.

Now, if that was cos he didnt like the Manager, thats his decision. But it wasnt like he wasnt playing, (like you say, well). I struggle to recall that many players leaving a club cos they dont like the Manager. It usually means the Manager is toast if senior/best players have issues with him.

But either way, difficult to argue with the thread title.

How does the deal offered to Ross compare to the deal given to Wayne; considering that Ross is 10 times the player Wayne is at this stage of his career? This doesn't even bring into consideration that the funds used in the Siggurdsson deal could have been instead directed towards resigning Ross rather than wasted on a downgrade in Gylfi.

Didnt even know they are playing Leeds.

Sums up how utterly fed up with football I currently am.

Instead of listening to 5 Live and their Friday night footie programme, got Tony sodding Blackburn on R2. Sake.

(For younger viewers, Tony Blackburn was a 1970s Radio 1 DJ who hasnt been naughty)

Thanks Everton.

That's a great summing up of Barkley .Promises so much but disappoints in equal measure. He's young enough to eventually succeed, but he needs to grow a thicker skin regarding criticism .

Not sure the logic flows really. The reported deal for Wayne was £150k pw, and £100k pw for Ross. Not sure offering Ross £250k pw/or what we are paying Gylfi really changes anything with him wanting out.
