Right now this club is a shambles

I have been an Evertonian all my 55 years and in that time apart from brief success (which came to an end not through Hysel but through Howard Kendall leaving/no long term plan to remain at the top of English football), we have been largely average. Is it collective Karma? I don't know what it is but it seems that way. How many times in the past 50 years we've beaten Liverpool home and away? not many that's for sure despite the fact they have had mediocre sides for many years since they were a great side. Since the Premier League began look at the number of times we've got a point at Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Man Utd. When we seem in the position to kick on we rarely do. It doesn't matter if RK is sacked or not nobody can change our fortunes. I honestly believe that. Liverpool did a deal with the devil and we will forever live in their shadow. Don't get upset by this I'm not a closet Kopite I can't abide them but the fact is we're generally just an average side. On a positive note the Club is the supporters and there are no better than an Evertonian.
What's the common link over our entire Premier League tenure until now?

I have witnessed all sorts of dross, excitement, joy, sadness all the emotions you can think of in my 50 years as a Toffee but last night and this season has been embarrassing and I have NEVER been embarrassed to be an Evertonian. Makes me a little sad when so optimistic during the Summer.

Come on Everton sort this. 1st thing Koeman out!
This, except it's more like 40 years for me.

Is that why they wasted time on signing sigurdson instead of a striker mate ? The first bid for sigurdson was enough to walk away , go and buy a striker and come back , Sigurdson wanted to leave swansea anyroad jus saying like

Whose fault is that?

You also have to assume we have the resource/capability to crack on with multiple transfers simultaneously.

Either way, the window closed and we went from being short upfront with just Lukaku to being short upfront with just DCL/Sandro?

Love Everton here.

Very little wiggle room between now and January in my opinion, you can sack the manager sure, not so sure that a great idea.

Personally im going to back and support he team as much as possible until the New year and some change can happen.

We've been in tougher spots then this, have "we're gash gear" at the ready.

You could consider the common link is not having spending power when having so would have made a massive difference, it doesn't so much now. The frustration for me is apart from the EPL, there has been the League Cup & FA Cup up for grabs and we've been so poor. We have to admit we have a massive inferiority complex when we come to play the so called big teams, especially Liverpool. If you don't pick up points against any of those sides you'll rarely finish above 6th place.

Not yours or mine or any other supporter or player boss , it's down to the manager and dof and the board like , as far as I'm concerned they're all just as bad as each other regarding this

There may well be a lot involved in transfers, but are we really going to believe that players like Klaassen dont have Koeman's prints all over them? Or the pursuit of Sigurdsson who he was a long term admirer of?

Re Martinez: he had to go. His brand of football couldn't be sustained at a club with the players we have. He was a dreamer to think he could continue the progress after that first season - a season that stands out like a beacon since the 80s for football. But Martinez had a plan. A method. Koeman is drifting from one game to another with no identity for this team. No one has the foggiest about what he's seeking to achieve on the pitch. It's a different kettle of fish altogether.

Dave in all the years I have disagreed with your delivery style, this is the best post I can remember from you. I will eat the humble pie that I must through supporting the manager and his Summer transfer activities, in the hope that he had really got it right. I agree with you 100% that Koeman seems incapable of the job he promised to deliver. The players have to take account of themselves too mind - they have lost confidence and appear to be strangers on the pitch, they give the ball away cheaply game after game, they don't appear to have any fire in their belly - until as we saw last night things got aggressive: and yet they still draw their astronomical salaries... The performance against Atalanta away was the most embarrassed I have ever been as a lifelong Everton fan. However, it all starts with the manager - what on earth has he done to them??

  • Worst team in a generation
  • Worst football in a generation
  • Worst manager in a generation
  • Our best player hounded out to the margins of the club
  • Good young players going backwards in their development
  • Players embarrassing the club on the pitch in front of the whole of the continent
  • Biggest transfer war-chest in the club's history flushed down the toilet
  • Ineffective leadership off the pitch from the club chairman, CEO and owner
  • Stadium situation looking less than green for go
We've stepped back in a time machine and this is the late 90s again.

Hard to disagree with much of that fella save that Tom Davies continues to impress every time he plays

Its laughable that people think us spending time on Iceland meant we couldnt do other deals, for the 3rd window on the run somebody has dropped the ball, its not Dave, he was all over the place nailing those deals, its not Koeman, he was on the golf course, which leaves The chairman and the DoF and anybody else involved in getting deals done.

If somebody needs to lose their job, it simply must be the person whos job it is to get the right players in, we are starting a 20 year old Striker who has scored 3 goals in his whole career, thats not Koemans fault.
