I read a cracking piece years ago by a barrister who had defended people he knew to have been murderers and the like. Basically said that despite how uneasy it felt, it was important that they got proper decent representation so that when they were found guilty, all concerned knew justice had been done.

I wouldn't want to live in a country where we decided that some types or groups of people weren't worth protecting under the law.

Tate was one of the first people after the Southport attack, who put a video out saying the attacker was a Muslim (wrong) asylum seeker (wrong) who arrived on a boat last year (wrong), and saying to his 9.8m followers that they had to act.

Absolute gobsh!te.
He’s truly one of the worst people in the public sphere and, given the competition, that is a very high bar to clear.

Worrying scenes in Birmingham now where muslims have come out to protect the Mosque after reading about a planned protest there. Just hope they dont follow the far right idiots in kicking off.

Doubt it, unless the far right turn up. There might be a bit of a crossover between this and events in Bangladesh today as well.

Ridiculous BBC newsbar says 147 arrests in UK far-right protests surely these are riots, utterly farcical morally inept the BBC has become its pursuit of balanced news.
once Bongo got his right wing fascist Tory pals in the director roles at the Beeb, it’s no better than GB news.
