Is the world getting more divided, or is there more of a platform for people to espouse views they've always had, ie social media? A lot of it is just pure guff and hot air. I don't think the world's a great place, but I don't think it's any worse than it's ever been it's just the bad things are more in your face than ever before especially as the media know that negativity sells. The Tories are still blood sucking vampires, the extreme right has always been there.

There's been large pockets of far-right neo-Nazi's simmering for years. The only difference between, say the 70s, and now was that social media has connected them, emboldened them, and they can also use it to recruit. Doesn't help, of course, when you have politicians who are sympathetic towards them either. I'm not saying anything original here.

I've been interested in the far-right in the USA for a long time, mostly as it intersects with scientific racism. A encyclopedic book on this topic, mostly as it pertains to the USA, is Blood Politics by Leonard Zeskind. Another good one is The Alt Right: What Everyone Needs to Know, by George Hawley.
