It’s next door to the Snowdome - so I guess it main function in addition to those mentioned above is to cater for people doing skiing lessons as well.
Tamworth has a castle, snowdome. It’s not a rich area but has some decent parts. It functions as a day out for brummies.
There are no “no go areas” that some large cities have, but it’s a Birmingham over spill town, largely filled by families that were looking to get out of tougher areas of Birmingham in the 70s and 80s With more affordable housing and more greenery. It’s not been a multicultural area in the previous century.
Unfortunately like a lot of over spill areas, ambition and broad mindedness are not central to the demographic. A lot people in Tamworth will never leave Tamworth, making a fear of foreigners easy.
