Having watched him get showered with media appearances over the last decade or more, cosplaying as a serious politician on Newsnight whilst taking his MEP pay for doing precisely nothing for example, I'm surprised to learn this morning that Farage has in fact been silenced all this time.

I have to ask, is there some extra level of silence we can gag him with? I'm tired of his current level of silenced-ness meaning that I have to hear from or about him every 10 minutes, usually about the subject of immigration (which is another oddity, given that it's apparently a discussion that nobody is willing to have).

There's protests of every kind down there every week (most of them good natured) so anything potentially dangerous like this would be known well in advance I'd imagine.

His team have been running his PR profile to keep him about, not heard from the toad for a bit, get a milkshake on him, dream up a bank account closure, get him on stage for trump, white cliffs of dover photo, deaths in the channel? - over to you farage, unrest in Paris suburbs? - who's at fault again this time 'nige'? milkshakes, pints, pubs, pensioners, profile profile profile.

I read a cracking piece years ago by a barrister who had defended people he knew to have been murderers and the like. Basically said that despite how uneasy it felt, it was important that they got proper decent representation so that when they were found guilty, all concerned knew justice had been done.

I wouldn't want to live in a country where we decided that some types or groups of people weren't worth protecting under the law.
