You don't crush someone by excluding or silencing them. You crush them by being better than them in terms of your policies and presenting that to the electorate

It doesn't work. It hasn't been working for ages. Farage has had a bigger platform and been "debated" more than just about any other politician in the country. He appeals to emotion, not reason, so presenting better policies isn't going to win through.

Snakes like Farage know just the line to walk (most of the time) to seem quite reasonable ("just asking questions") and just stay out of trouble, while dogwhistling to those who are listening and acting all outraged when the fruits they sow come to ripen, by which time they've done their damage.

I was doing jury service and I was absolutely gobsmacked at the way the barrister defended the criminal.

I get letting them have an official representation of the law, but this guy was going to town justifying his his horrendous actions. I won’t name the case but yes it was something horrendous.

Which means they both defend and prosecute.
