You know that Roberto is going to give it a right good go and even against superior sides such as in the upcoming tourney we should at least take the game to thrse sides whatever the outcome. Would be bloody hilarious if Roberto won a "trophy" (of sorts) before Moyes probably will in the Community Shield (a one off game against hugely inferior Wigan that Moyes didn't manage the team into qualifying for).

Don't agree. Arsenal play with Arteta in the deeper role! Pienaar IS creative from the middle as he has proved several times with us, ok maybe not world class but definately capable of the role as too is Barkley and Osman. The only change maybe there could be swapping Gibson and fellaini around which may work better. Barca's FB's and arsenal's and madrid's bomb on in that formation without it being sucicidal!?!?

Barca got Busquets who is playing as a "modern centre-half", or half defender half midfielder.
The closest thing we have in this squad is Heitinga.

Gibson is simply not.

Not sure about Fellaini in this role. He does not spell out as disciplined enough to play lone holder. Gibson is disciplined, but he's a little bit lightweight and will need serious help in defending from the men in front.

The closest analogy is Italy with Pirlo in between the lines. But they play some kind of either 352 (best with De Rossi sweeping) 4D2 or 41311 in the first place, and also have two shutters who are capable of actually defending.

Seems as though Robles is displacing Howard as our no 1 keeper in peoples minds. I agree with this also.

If we sign Moses then swap him for Deulofeu. I think Everton could still do with an athletic, ball playing central midfielder as well. If we're going to attack more we need players more capable of covering the ground to attack/defend than the likes of Osman/Pienaar are.

Alcaraz

Felli ----------------------- Gibson

Baines
Oviedo
Mirallas
Gerard kid

Barkley

Kone ---------------------- Jelavic

I have gone for a radical formation based on some posters views of Alcaraz and de tour of france. Apparently Wigan only conceded goals when Alcaraz was not on the pitch, and if he was on the pitch it was all the other defenders fault ( Apparently the defence don't defend as a unit!!!! ) Anyway, I have combated this by playing Alcaraz in defence by himself, so no-one can drag him down.

Also, as you will see I'm playing with two wingers. After watching de tour of France, you see the teams taking it in turns to ride at the front, a method called drafting, which reduces wind resistance for the people behind. I'm planning on the wingers to rotate in 15 min slots.

The community shield is a joke. Manchester United already got the reward for finishing top of the league; it´s called the league title. And as you pointed out, Moyes had nothing to do with it.
